"an airbender?" everyone questioned as many citizens gathered around the body, that was spilled onto the shore.

he had a white air sign on the back of his hand, while they had blue waves on their neck. a way to differentiate between the different benders.

"we have to bring him to leader lee." this wasn't necessary, as they person they searched suddenly appeared behind them. "what is it?" he asked, kneeling down next to the unconscious boy.

the leader's eyes widened. "there was an attack on the air nomads a month ago, leader lee jooyeon" an informant said, that was also standing next to the airbender. a month ago?

"the entire city was wiped out. he must have managed to flee." jooyeon thought about the said thing, chewing on the inner side of his cheek. "bring him to my hut."

the people there nodded as they picked up the boy, transporting him to the place jooyeon wanted him to be.

the small village on the shore was led by him and him alone. it used to be his parents, yet his father went to war and never returned, his mother has died from an illness due to their infertile and poisoned ground.

the earthbenders doing. there are some spies from the earth kingdom, no one knew who it was. these spies made their ground infertile, nothing could be harvested.

their diet had to dramatically change, mostly just consuming fish and everything else from the ocean.

jooyeon was left alone as the leader of his tribe, he was only fifteen years old. people didn't take him seriously, making fun of him behind his back.

"what could a young leader possibly do?" many thought. jooyeon might be a good water healer, but he wasn't able to use his bending abilities to protect his people.

following his people inside the hut, where they put the boy on a mattress, jooyeon took a closer look at him. he must be around his age.

with a sigh, he noticed the blood on the boy's clothing, not knowing whether it was his own or someone else's.

his assistant brought a bowl of water, just watching silently as jooyeon did what he had to do. the water floated on top of the unconscious airbender, seeping through his clothes and into the wounds, that spread over his torso.

no one understood the true magic of water healing. they just knew that it worked. the lee family was the only one who was able to master the technique, now it was only jooyeon remaining.

after the healing was done, he asked to bring the boy fresh clothes. "his dirtied ones wont do."

changing clothes for an unconscious person was harder than they thought. but it was funny., as well. at least jooyeon thought so, the rest found it nerve-wrecking.

"leader jooyeon, you're blushing" one of his people said, motioning towards the redness of his cheeks. jooyeon immediately lowered his head; the skinny body of the airbender was indeed attractive. and jooyeon just happened to be a teen.

jooyeon waved it off with a shy grin, binding his long black hair in a ponytail. just before the boy woke up.

thanks to jooyeon's previous healing, he felt fit enough as soon as he opened his eyes. and the next thing jooyeon knew was him and his people hitting the walls surrounding them.

jiseok was standing in front of the bed, in battle stance as he breathed heavily, probably shocked. he must've send them flying.

"who are you?!" he shouted and looked at jooyeon, his eyes narrowing in fear. the leader took a step closer and raised his hands in defense.

"we wont hurt you" he declared, trying to not seem like a threat. "you were hurt, i healed you. please calm down, then tell me what happened to you."
