"i have the western water tribe leader and the spirit boy from the fire nation with me" was the first thing hyeongjun heard as he woke up.

panicking, he tried to take a look around. he was in on a ship, tied to the wall. jooyeon was next to him, at least he wasn't alone.

"jooyeon..." hyeongjun mumbled, trying to wake the boy up. he was still unconscious, though. the stranger in another room, luckily.

hyeongjun grumbled as he tried to remove the rope around his wrists, but they were blocking his veins from filling his hands with blood, so he couldn't bend. smart.

yet hyeongjun was smarter. having found a way to breathe fire, he used his exhales to burn off the restraints.

immediately hurrying to the younger, he freed him, as well. "jooyeon, wake up!" hyeongjun shook him once again and succeeded in waking him up.

"what...?" jooyeon asked, confused, but before the elder was able to answer, someone entered the room.

one of them was a general, wearing the earth kingdom's uniform and the other..

it didn't take long for hyeongjun to press the other against the wall of the ship, blue flames burning in his hand.

"you killed my parents!" he grumbled angrily - it was king oh.

the man just rolled his eyes, pushing hyeongjun away from him. it was hard to resist the temptation to just burst the man out in flames.

but hyeongjun knew better than that. after all, the ship was made out of wood mostly, they would all burn down.

"this could be possible - oh wait, former fire nation royalty. of course, then."

hyeongjun tried his best to not flip out completely, trying to take deep breaths. "what do you want from us?!"

king oh just sighed, looking at them with a knowing grin. "come on, don't act like you don't know. you're the soulmate of the airbender we're searching for.

and i'm 100% sure you know where he is?"

the general put metal around hyeongjun's wrist, metal-bending it into even stronger restraints. "i don't know where he is!" hyeongjun shouted.

jooyeon then stood up to rush towards the spirit, yet was stopped by the general punching him in the face, making him fall down to the floor.

"i'll talk to you later, jooyeon" king oh said, sounding carelessly. "i'm having a conversation with hyeongjun right now."

it was scary that he knew their names. both of them are royal, but the eerie feeling of their worst enemy calling out their name wasn't exactly pleasing.

hyeongjun was forced down on his knees, so he'd look up to the king in a superior position. shaking, he looked up to meet the earth king's glare.

"you don't know where he is?" the man asked with a smirk. "oh, but you're his soulmate? you should be able to feel his presence."

"nice, but i don't. and even if i would, i wouldn't tell you, motherfucker" hyeongjun lowered his head to spit on his shoes.

he received a harsh slap for that, making his head jolt to the side. jooyeon was already ready to intervene, but with the general then starting to hold him down, it was impossible.

"you really have something to say, don't you jooyeon?" the king then asked as he turned around to face the fifteen year old.

"perhaps you could tell me where to find the airbender's brother? sources told me that he was found there on the shore and you took him in?"

jooyeon was breathing heavily as his head was pressed down on the hard wood of the floor, looking at the earth king through narrowed eyes.

he tried to break free. "i'll never tell you!" the earth king didn't seem to be bothered by that. "fine."

the man walked behind hyeongjun, ripping his shirt as he took out his dagger and positioned it on the spirit's back.

"still sure you won't tell me?"

jooyeon was overwhelmed. the pain of being forced onto the floor was getting to him. what was he supposed to do?

he couldn't let hyeongjun suffer but he also couldn't reveal their location.

jooyeon procrastinated and the earth king didn't seem really satisfied with that either, leaving a deep clean cut across hyeongjun's back.

the spirit screamed in pain, his blood gushing out of the wound and dyeing his skin in a blue tone.

"what about now?"

he left another cut, making hyeongjun hiss loudly in pain again. what was jooyeon supposed to do?

the water bender wanted to start to panic. he couldn't betray one of them.

so instead, he thought of something that might get them out.

he knew that jiseok and gunil could enter someone's body through the airways. could jooyeon do the same?

blood was a liquid. did that count, too? jooyeon closed his eyes, lifting his hand slightly off the floor, so that the general wouldn't notice.

he tried to feel the king's blood in his fingertips. it took him quite a long time, it was painful every time he heard hyeongjun scream out in pain horrifyingly.

then, jooyeon grinned when he felt something - he felt the king's body in his hand.

with a flick of his hand, he sent him flying away from hyeongjun, making him gasp in surprise. this surprised everyone, even jooyeon himself.

he just created bloodbending.

"i'll give you some time to think. it'll take a few days until we arrive at the earth kingdom anyway."

then they left jooyeon and hyeongjun alone and locked the door.
