I glance at my phone, another text from Alexandra. I click on the message, scrolling through it, scanning the long paragraph. I start to type a message back, but I am interrupted by Elliott's voice, "Charles?"

I slowly stop typing, trying to give him some attention, but with Alex blowing up my phone, I only give him a small amount, "Yes, Mon Ange?"

His next statement catches me completely off guard, "I know you like my Maman." I blink up from my phone,"I'm sorry," I freeze, forgetting about the text I was going to send to Alex, "What did you say, Mon Ange?"

His eyes soften, as we make eye contact, "It's okay if you do, I heard her talking to Auntie T about you," he pauses, as hope forms into my eyes, "I think she likes you too."

I can't stop the smile that plasters onto my face, "You think so?" He giggles at my question, "Yes! Her and Auntie Tilly talk about you, she always is like," he pauses, then starts to mimic his mom, "Oh Tilly, guess what Charles did! Oh me and Charles this Me and Charles that!!" He laugh at his impression of Lana, "How can you be so sure she likes me? Just because she talks about me, that doesn't mean anything."

That's when a cheeky grin comes onto his face, "When she talks about she smiles a lot, her cheeks always go red," He then aks me, "Do you like my mom too?"

I think about his wording. I never had heard him say 'mom,' I've always heard him say, 'maman.' I look at him, then ask him the question I've been dying to know the answer to, "Is it okay If I like your mom?"

He waits a moment, thinking about the idea, leaving me in suspense, "As long as you promise to take me to a race and get me ice cream, then yes, it will be okay." I laugh at him, when a starnger walks into the room.

"I'm Sarah," She says, chewing her gum, obnoxiously loud, "I'm going to be the nurse taking care of, " She looks at her clip board, "Elliott." She point at me, "Are you the father? We need to do some scans and run some tests on him, but in order to do that, we need two people to sign off-" I freeze, not knowing how to answer the woman's question.

Luckily, Lana walks back into the room, but she's confused as ever, "Uhm, excuse me, what do you need?" The woman turns to her, "Are you Mrs. Bianchi? We need to run some-" I couldn't tell if it was the mention of the last name that made Lana go pale, or the fact that she was called a 'Mrs.'

The name makes me think of him, of Jules, I smile to myself, but then remember the situation we are in.

But then, it hits me.

Lana told me her last name was Rey, so why would the nurse be calling her by a different last name? I slowly start to get lost in my thoughts, but Lana's voice drags me out, "It's Miss, I am not married, Bianchi is one of my last names."
