"You enjoyed the tour you just had?" Leah asks me.
"It was a bit overwhelming but I loved it. It was nice to see where you spend so much time."
She nods. "Figured it would help you a bit, now you can visualize it all better."
"Thank you, very considerate. But can I ask why you didn't join in on the tour?"
"I don't want to get involved in your decision-making. Of course, you can talk to me and I'll try to be as objective as possible but I try to keep out of it as much as I can."
"But still, you were the one to set it all up."
"Personal gain." She gives me a wink. "You aren't just my girlfriend, you are also a talented baller."
I smile at her. "That's sweet of you to say."
"For the record, I can set up a tour at another club if you want me to, just say the word."
"I'll think about it."
Leah looks into my eyes, I see a soft smile appear on her face.
We are at her front door and the moment Leah opens it we hear someone swearing.
"Shit. I didn't clean up the mess I made when I made you breakfast."
I close the front door and I hear Jordan shouting from the kitchen. "Leah For Fuck's Sake!"
"Yeah I know, sorry. I was in a rush." She says while she rolls her eyes. "Take a seat baby." She whispers. "I'll be right there."
I do as she says and take a seat on the couch in the living room. Leah walks into the kitchen and Jordan is visibly annoyed at her. They have some words and I can tell Leah is trying to keep it down a bit but Jordan isn't having any of it. I feel awkward sitting here and having to listen to them. I grab my phone and text Vic. 'Can't wait to tell you all about the Gala. You are still going to pick me up, right?'
Vic leaves me on read and doesn't reply. Leah walks out and loudly sighs, she has an annoyed look at her face.
"Sorry about that." She says as she takes a seat next to me.
"Don't be." I smile at her.
Jordan walks out of the kitchen. "Hello Dani." She says without looking at me.
"Hi Jordan."
She walks to her bedroom and slams the door.
"She can be such a child." Leah says.
"Is this how it goes between the two of you every day?"
"We get along most of the time."
"Good."
A silence follows. Why is this so awkward? I check my phone but Vic hasn't replied yet. I softly sigh.
I'm caught up in my own head, thinking about Jordan being angry about the mess, why didn't Leah had time to clean the mess she made? I've been away quite some time, what did she do in the meantime? I want to ask her about it but I don't want to come across as controlling. My mind is racing and searching for the right words to use.
"Penny for your thoughts." Leah whispers.
I sigh. "I was thinking about where you went in the time I was gone and wanted to ask you about it but I don't want you to think I'm being controlling." I whisper.
"Don't be silly, I would never think that of you." Leah says as she giggles softly.
"So, what did you do?"
She looks me into my eyes and gives me her biggest smile. "Come with me."
She gets up and starts walking to her bedroom.
"Leah.." I whisper. "Don't forget that we still need to go to Julie to get my passport and my bag."
She opens her bedroom door and pulls me inside.
"Wish you could stay a little longer." She says as she closes the door.
"If I could I would stay longer but I don't want to miss my flight." I say as I check the time and sigh.
She softly pushes me against the door and kisses me fiercely.
"I don't want you to go."
I close my eyes and inhale deeply.
"Baby please, don't make this any harder than it already is.." I whisper.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too." I can feel I'm getting emotional, every time I'm with her it gets harder and harder to leave her again.
She puts her arms around me and holds me tight, real tight. We both sigh deeply.
"What if I told you that you could stay another night."
"Baby, what are you talking about?"
She has a nervous giggle. "Well, I did this thing and now I think I might overstepped a bit."
"What did you do?"
She smiles at me. "Come with me."
I don't say anything and I observe her. I can tell she is a little nervous but excited at the same time.
We walk outside and she opens the trunk of her car. I look inside and I see my bag.
"You went to Julie to pick up my stuff? Why would you overstep by doing that?" I feel like I'm missing something, I feel so confused.
"Well..." Leah starts and she clears her throat. "I talked with Julie and we rebooked your flight and set it to tomorrow."
"YOU DID WHAT?" I say loudly.
Leah giggles nervously. "When I thought about it I thought it was romantic and so sweet but now I feel like I might have overstepped, but your aunt is in on it and she...." Leah starts rambling.
"Baby. Stop talking."
She looks at me and I can see in her eyes that she can't wait to see what I'm about to say.
"You are truly the sweetest. I wish I could jump on you and kiss you right now."
"So you are not angry?"
"ANGRY? Are you crazy? Baby, I can't even express in words how happy I am that I can stay another night."
I can see she is relieved. "And there is another thing.."
"Yeah?"
"We are going to make dinner at Julie's place tonight."
"Make dinner or eat dinner?"
"Long story. I promised Julie a home-cooked meal so I really hope you have some kind of specialty." She giggles. We both know that she isn't the chef out of us two.
"We can figure something out together." I smile at her. "God Leah, you never fail to surprise me."
"I've got plenty more surprises up my sleeve." She whispers as she comes a little closer.
"Fuck. Can't wait." I whisper as I look into her eyes.
"I thought you didn't like surprises?" She says with a smirk.
I start to laugh, she got me there. I look at my bag. "Why did you bring my bag while we are going to have dinner at Julie's?"
"Figured you would like to change into your own clothes."
"Leah, you leave me speechless."
She smiles at me, my words affect her, she's got this twinkle in her eyes.
"Let's eat a quick lunch and get changed."
