The surprise on my face was replaced with a frown.

"You shouldn't. We're over, Blake." I told him.

"Come on, Rae. I'm sorry, but I need to speak with you. Let's head back to the cabin. My drive is waiting." He grabbed my hand and I pulled it back.

"Speak with me here but there's nothing you can say to me that will change my mind from going with you." I folded my arms.

"I left because..."

Now familiar hands were on me and around my waist.

I watched as Blake looked at it and then up at Hunter's face.

Then he scoffed, looking at me with disbelief.

"Prove me wrong, Rae. This is not happening." He hoped.

"If word's not enough then I can show you some action." I shrugged. "Now what did you have to say?"

"Are you with him?" He asked.

"Yes, I am," I answered and he looked hurt.

"Are you serious!" He shook his head. "You know what, just give me five minutes of your time to explain myself."

He looks up at the man so much taller than he is.

"Alone."

I don't know if I should go with him, but feeling so safe with Hunter had me rethinking.

"If you can't say it here then you can go." I blinked, giving no reaction that I care for his time.

He stared at me and I stared right back with a straight face.

"I wasn't cheating, but I was lying to you because I wanted to surprise you with something. I'm sorry I left you alone all this time but I tried to make you understand. All you did was shut me out. Your mom reached out to me..."

My heart fell and I held onto Hunter's hand.

Blake stared at it and frowned deep with anger still present on his face.

"We've been talking for some time and it is what makes me suspicious but I had all the proof. She didn't want me to tell you as yet. She reached out to me on social media asking about you and since you barely speak of your parents. Or when you're intoxicated you say you miss having the best parents ever. I agreed to help your mom get here to see you."

I held my heart and knew something else was left to say.

"Where... Where is she?" I asked.

"She's in the car along with your stepfather." He revealed and I cried out.

Hunter held me up.

His family and those around us start staring.

"No. No. Nonono!" I shook my head.

"Rae..."

"I didn't tell you about them because I never liked them, Blake." I cried. "Mommy never believed me when I told her that her perverted man was trying to touch me. She did nothing but love him through the abuse!"

Loud gasps were heard and Hunter turned me towards him and away from Blake's shocked face.

"I'll do whatever you say, Little lady. What do you need?"

"Get me out of here. I don't want to see them." I cried harder as I hyperventilated.

This man took me up in his arms and walked towards the parking lot.

"If she doesn't breathe properly, she'll faint." I heard his aunt tell him. It seems they were all following.

"Baby, look at me." I looked away from our surroundings and up at him. "Inhale. Exhale. Inhale..."
