"She feels guilty for reading the bible for me and that I might ruin your holidays or me," Hunter told his parents over the phone and his Nana across from him listened in.

"It's nothing like that." His mom sighs.

"If anything. You both made a great theory worth considering to research." His dad added. "It's a good way to think as parents. You both make a good pair."

"And be sure to tell her, but neither I nor Nana can find her bible. She hid it well." Hunter chuckled.

"If you can't get through to her, let me know," Mom tells him as she worries.

Polly liked the girl so much for her son and for them as well. Being a good daughter-in-law, despite her son who isn't married to her Rae as yet.

For Hunter, he knew that coming into Jhanna-Rae's life caused her to make a few changes.

She starts lessening her workload and even the hours. Knowing she had someone waiting for her at home, and Nana being around too was great company.

Not to mention the pups.

Getting them was because he missed the companion he lost. His best friend died due to a tumor. Rocky was not just his pet or his best friend. He was family.

He thought getting one for himself meant getting one for her too. When she found out that Icy was for him, she almost cried.

He corrected her and said that they were both theirs. What belonged to him was for her as well.

Including one of two vehicles parked in the garage.

He won't allow her to take an Uber or to give her friend extra work by driving this distance for her.

Every morning Ron takes her to work and picks her up afterwards. As for Nick, he provides personal security for her at the salon or wherever she goes.

Emryn allows it before Rae is even aware that she is being watched.

The moment she left Colorado, she was under Thorne's protection.

Signing that contract is a lifetime commitment. Like being with Hunter even now that he's at his worst.

Hunter tells his parents that he'll call them later when he gets a call from Hassan.

His Nana went upstairs to give him some privacy.

Just the name alone commands respect and his family has that for Hassan Thorne.

"Yes Boss." He answered.

Only for him to answer in French. Telling Hunter that his woman doesn't understand any other languages except for English so French was necessary.

Hunter understood.

"Dec was a bit late when he informed me about your little lady's curious stare on my lady." He revealed.

"How so? At the base?" Hunter asked.

"At the base, si. Dec also figured it out before I could get some confirmation." He started. "He said they looked a little similar as if they're relatives."

Hunter's eyes widened and so was his smile.

"You can't be serious?" He laughs.

"I am." Hassan chuckled. "Hearing her speak the Jamaican patois was another proof."

"I can't believe this." Hunter laughs again.

"You better. I went digging as usual." Hunter laughs at his friend's obsession with hacking and stalking his woman. "They're indeed related. First related cousins."
