People will do the strangest of things and say they do it out of love for the other person.
I had to question my love for Hunter and even so, I didn't want to speak with him. He understood that I needed time.
Exiting the car at his friend's house, or more like a safe house in the middle of nowhere. Blending in with the huge rocks and tall looming tree that could be mistaken for a bean stock.
Still, it's something people with too much money will spend on.
Something totally different and with it surrounded by so much luxury, I had nothing to say. For the two helicopters on the roof, a huge yacht and a few boats on the water.
Even the property is huge, with the front gate so far from the house and surrounded by high walls.
"Where's jack?" I mumbled to myself but audibly.
"What?"
"Nothing." I grumbled.
"Jack died off the titanic, Jhanna." He found time to say.
"Jack and the bean stock." I looked over at him, but right at his legs.
He had refused to tell me how bad his injury was, saying I must not worry. His excuse was that he didn't want to lie to me.
He only had sprain and bruises on both legs, never a broken or fractured bone.
It's well enough from months ago to walk on and that's why he was okay with staying at home alone.
I rolled my eyes so he could see, before I looked away. Showing him that I'm in no mood to speak with him.
"Mister and Mrs Daye, welcome to Thorne Residence. Hassan will be with you shortly, please make yourselves at home." His butler greets, leading us to the door.
As soon as I got to the door, I threw my shoes off at thee side of the door.
"It's okay Mrs. Daye, you can wear it inside."
"I'm good, but thank you." I smiled, not getting my dirty shoes ruin this beautiful floor.
He led us pass the sitting room and further into the house by the family room.
Right when we thought it was Hassan, a black female enters the room.
I fold my arms to show that I'm unapproachable, not liking the spirit of that person who greets Hunter.
I watched the exchange as I sat, folding my legs as well and leaned back comfortably.
"It's good to see you again, Faith." He hugged her and I looked away before she could see me watching.
She didn't have to hug him so closely.
Let a man do it to me and we'll see how he'll react.
"This is Jhanna-Rae, my fiancé." He introduces but I'm nonchalant about the whole thing. "She's not feeling up to it right now."
I rolled my eyes and I know they see it clearly.
"I'm actually on my way to work but I'll see you when I get back." She says, hugging him again before she left.
Then I looked at him, or glared rather.
"She looks real comfortable hugging and rubbing up on you like that. You better hope Hassan got a bible and virgin olive oil up in here to wash that lustful energy offa you."
His eyes widened as he's shocked by my words. "What..."
Chuckles filled the hallway before Hassan is standing there at the hallway. "You all made it. Welcome to my home Rae, I hope you make yourself comfortable."
