MAERA FELT THE CARRIAGE SLOW ITS PACE. She peeked thru the cracks in the wood and all the faint voices around the carriage. "All hail Rhaenyra of House Targaryen." One of the men said outside of the carriage, who had been ordered to await for their arrival.

Rhaenyra peaked out of the carvings on the carriage, watching the man. "Princess of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne." He continued. "And her loyal consort, Prince Daemon Targaryen." He finished.

Rhaenyra took slow and steady steps down the stairs that had been placed beneath her. She held her hands on her stomach protectively.

Along followed Daemon, and then the rest of the children. Also the maidens who had taken Viseryes and Aegon in their arms, helping them.

The large entrance doors had opened, with nothing but a bald man with a small grey beard peeking out of the doors. He then made his way over to Rhaenyra.

Maera frowned at him, as she had never seen him before, but by the expression on his face, he had definitely known Rhaenyra.

He bowed before the princess, and took ahold of her hand. "Welcome back, Princess." He greeted her firmly.

Rhaenyra looked at him. "Lord Caswell." She spoke with a faint nod.

Maera glanced around the halls, feeling as though she was being stared at.

Maera ascended the steps, having to find her room by herself, considering the Hightowers hadn't even bothered welcoming them on their arrival.

She heard the steps of a woman slowing her pace behind her, she swiftly turned around and looking down at the familiar face standing down at the bottom of the staircase.

She bowed for The Queen. "You Grace." She spoke, nervously. It had been years since she saw Alicent and she just remembered how beautiful the Queen was.

Alicent took slow steps up the stairs, as she looked at Maera in surprised.

"Princess Maera," She greeted as she took the last step looking up at the girl.

"How you've grown." She muttered and looked the girl up and down with a faint smile.

Maera's gaze softened at Alicent's words, "Thank you, Your Grace." She smiled. "Lots have changed around here but certainly not your beauty."

Alicent smiled freely at the girl, and slowly took ahold of her hands, squeezing them slightly. "You've grown into a beautiful woman, has anyone told you so?"

Maera blushed, and looked to the ground for a brief moment. Maera nodded her head slightly. "How old are you?"

"Six and Ten" Maera smiled innocently. Alicent hummed.
