MAERA STOOD IN HER CHAMBERS, AFTER LUCERY'S FUNERAL, EVERYONE WAS SHOCK TO SEE HER AT THE FUNERAL. She noticed Daemon was not at it, perhaps he was plotting something for the Greens.Maera heard the sound of the doors being opened, she turned around. It was Jace. The two had not spoken to each other. Jacaerys walked towards her. The two break as they embrace each other. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I couldn't protect him." Maera's voice cracks. "Don't apologize, sister." Jace whispered.
Maera pulled away, rubbing Jace's cheek. "Lucerys shall be avenged." Maera stated. "He shall, and he will." Jacaerys nods. "I promise you." He added. "Lord Stark, and Lady Arryn promised men to us, we will win this war and we shall have Aemond's head."
Maera nodded. "House Baratheon stands with us. Lord Borros promised me his men." Maera said. Jacaerys frowns. "You haven't heard?"
Maera raised her brows. "Heard what?" She asked. "Lord Borros is dead. Brandon is Storms End lord now. Lord Borros died from a stroke a few days ago." Jacaerys said. Maera's eyes widened in shock. "I need to go see them-" Maera whispered.
"Daemon?" She frowns, looking behind Jace, Daemon approached the girl, his head leading against hers. "I'll speak to you later, Maera." Jace stepped away, nodding at them, leaving her chambers.
"Maera." Daemon held a hand behind her head. Dameon slightly pulled away. "Are you well?" Maera shook her head. "Luke is dead. I want Aemond Targaryen." Maera glared up at him, trying her best not to cry again.
"Your mother said the same thing." Daemon whispered. "I have a plan." He added. "What is it?" Maera asked. "We go to Kings Landing."
"The Cannibal needs rest, I cannot-" Daemon shook his head. "No, Maera. We go to Kings Landing on a boat, and pay someone for Aemond head."
"Why can't we kill him ourselves?" Maera questioned. "That one eyed cunt hides in the red keep while that old bitch Vhagar protects them." Daemon stated. "We're at risk by going to Kings Landing." Maera said. "You are not at risk if you're by my side."
"And I do not know my way thru Maegor's secret walls. There is someone who does." Daemon added.
Maera felt an unusual feeling stepping foot into Kings Landing again. Daemon and her wore cloaks covering their heads. Maera put her hair in a braid, preventing anyone from seeing her silver hair.
Daemon whistled at a Gold Cloak. "A tribute." Daemon said as he approached the gate. "Commander."
Maera kept her head down. "Never gone for long." Daemon looked around. "I'm told you bear a mislike for the Hightowers."
"Fuck the Hightower."
He opened the gate for them, and grabbed ahold of them, and walked them thru Kings Landing streets. Daemon had told her that they were looking for one of Aegon's rat catchers. His name was Chesse supposedly.
"The White Worm said you were one of Aegons rat catchers. You must be busy. That castle positively crawls them now." Daemon stated.
"I heard the White Worm were dead." Chesse said, as he ate meat off bones. "Her ghost told me you were betting men, fighting pits?" Daemon asked. "Dogs, and bones." Chesse whispered.
"How deep are your debts?" Daemon questioned, giving Maera a look. Maera took out gold from her pocket, holding it out to Chesse. When he tried grabbing it, she pulled it away.
Chesse chuckled. "You posses a unique knowledge of the Red Keep." Maera stated. "Maegors tunnels. I know them better than the shape of my own cock." Chesse smiled at her.
Maera chuckled. "This is my friend." Daemon looked up at Blood, The gold cloak. He looked back at Chesse. "Tonight he is going to be your friend. You will find and slay the Prince Aemond Targaryen. He had sliver hair and one eye, should be easy to find. But I understand he's quite good in a fight, You'll want to take caution."
Maera threw the gold on the floor. Chesse grabbed it, "One half, You'll get the other half when it's done." Maera stated. "Alright, what if we can't find him?" Chesse asked.
"Kill a Prince then. A son for a son." Daemon ordered. Maera looked down at the ground. The only other prince was Prince Jaehaerys. An innocent little boy. But Aemond killed Luke, who was innocent.
Maera convinced Daemon to let her go into Maegor's tunnels. She did not want to go with Blood and Chesse so she took a different direction. Daemon brought her to a passage when he first took Rhaenrya out to the street of silk years ago.
"Don't take long." Daemon stated. "I won't." Maera said, as she entered the secret tunnel. The only chambers Maera knew her way to was her mother's and Alicent's.
Not wanting to see the Dowager Queen, Maera went to her mother's. A few years ago, Maera, Luke and Jace marked their hands on Rhaenrya's walls. It was a core memory for her. Maera thought her mother's chambers would be empty.
But she was wrong, when she quietly opened the door, her first sight was her mother's old bed, and she saw Alicent, but she wasn't alone, she was with Ser Criston. Maera stopped opening the door at the sight. A slight crack letting only one eye see thru it.
Her eyes widened in shock. Alicent was on top of Criston, the sight was disturbing to Maera. Alicent hair was messy, all over her face, The hair Maera once admired. Alicent flipped her head over with her hand. Alicent looked over to the sound of the door creaking.
Maera's eye met Alicent's. Maera's eyes filling with tears. Ser Criston's grunts, and pace fastened. Alicent quickly got off him, Maera closed the door, when Alicent looked back the wall, She was gone.
Alicent was not crazy, she definitely saw the Princess. "What's wrong?" Ser Criston asked. Alicent looked away from him. He swiftly moved closer to her, kissing her shoulder. "Do not." Alicent pulled her shoulder away. "I said no kissing." Alicent added.
Alicent forbid Criston from kissing her, the only lips she wanted mark on her was the Princess. "I'm sorry, Your Grace." Ser Criston placed his head down.
Maera placed her head against the wall. She wiped tears after tear as they fell down her face. Maera sighed, running back to where Daemon was.
When she got outside. Daemon grabbed her arms. "What happened?" He softly asked. "Nothing, I- We must go." She hid her face from him. Daemon did not protest and walked down the stairs leading them back to the boat.
"What did you see, Maera?" Daemon asked. "Nothing, Daemon. I saw nothing." Maera whispered. Maera felt drained, her brother was dead , and now the woman, she hated himself for admitting it, the women she once loved was sleeping with her sworn protector.
