HONEYWINE AND BUTCHERS BALL

IT HAD BEEN THREE DAYS SINCE JACAERYS DEATH AND HIS FUNERAL, MAERA STAYED IN HER CHAMBERS IN KINGS LANDING, AND DID NOT ATTEND JACAERYS FUNERAL ON DRAGONSTONE. Rhaenrya had arrived on the morrow, Jacaerys body still against Maera's, tears running down her cheek.

Maera, barely holding herself together after seeing her mother's reaction had simply walked away from Rhaenrya and mounted The Cannibal, flying to Kings Landing, locking herself in her chambers.

Maera was informed that Jacaerys and Vermax were going to be burned by Syrax, as they did Visenya. Maera mostly stayed in bed, weeping for the Prince. Baela, the former betrothed of Prince Jacaerys found herself doing the same.

Rhaenrya, broken after the loss of one son, Lucerys. Was yet broken again by the loss of her second son, Jacaerys.

Jacaerys death hardened the Princess, leaving her an anger, hatred and pain.

Rhaenyra entered Maera's rooms. Maera rarely slept, barely eat. The only thing the Princess found herself doing was drawing baths, and crying herself to sleep.

"Maera." Rhaenrya whispered, sitting next to Maera. "Yes mother?" Maera asked, not turning to her. "I'm sorry about Jacaerys." Rhaenrya said. "It's not your fault." Maera whispered.

Rhaenrya caressed Maera's hair, placing three kisses on her head. "He.. said he wanted to make you proud, and that.." Maera sighs, her emotions always got the best of her. Maera sat up, looking at Rhaenrya. "And.. and that.. he's sorry for not listening to you." Maera breaks down again, it felt like she couldn't breathe.

Rhaenrya eyes fill up with tears. Maera practically throws herself at her mother, Rhaenrya pulls her into a tight hug, a hand behind the princess head.

Maera buries her head on Rhaenrya's neck. The Princess and The Queen weep like little girls.

There was a knock at the door, Ser Lorent walked in. "Your Grace, Princess." He lowered his head. "The council is ready for you." Ser Lorent stated. Rhaenrya nodded. "Thank you, Ser Lorent."

The first council held after Jacaerys death.

Ser Lorent left, Rhaenrya turned to Maera. "I understand if you won't be attending." Rhaenrya whispered. Maera nods. Rhaenrya places a kiss on Maera's forehead, and exiting the room.

Maera watches her mother, and the door closes behind her. Maera stands up, she doesn't know why she does it, but she opens her window, peaking her head out but then climbing on it, and watching the city of Kings Landing.

Maera slowly closes her eyes, and lets the wind hit her, but it's the smell of disappointment. Kings Landing was disappointing her more and more everyday, as life was too.

A pair of arms grabbed onto Maera, pulling her back into her chambers, Maera's body stumbled on the ground, as with the person who grabbed her.

Maera turned to them, It was Alicent. "What are you doing?" Alicent yelled in a whisper. Maera looked at her confused. She didn't even know what she was doing herself. "How'd you get here?" Maera asked.

"Maegor's Tunnels."

"Hold me." Maera whispered, looking up at Alicent. "Can you do that?" Alicent nodded her head, her arms wrapped around Maera's stomach. Alicent grabbed Maera's right hand, and placed gentle kisses on it.
