MAERA STOOD NEXT TO HER MOTHER WHEN ERRYK'S AND ARRYK'S FUNERAL TOOK PLACE. Jacaerys standing left of Maera.

"He is the basset of villains, He sullies the grave of his brother." Jacaerys said. "I cannot fault him for keeping his oath." Rhaenrya said. "And what of those who sent him?" Jacaerys asked. "Who ever did must pay." Maera stated.

Rhaenrya throws a handful of dirt in the grave. Maera glances between Jace and the grave. Jacaerys moves away, and Rhaenys approaches Maera and Rhaenrya.

"Otto Hightower would never have allowed this." Rhaenys said. "So who would?" Maera asked, hands on her sword. "Aegon?" Rhaenrya guessed. Maera shook her head. "Aegon is too stupid to think of something like this."

"Who ever did they wish to punish or avenge." Rhaenys stated. "Soon they will not even remember what it was that began the war in the first place."

"That is easy enough, they usurped my throne." Rhaenrya stated. "That is one answer. Or was it when the child was beheaded?"

Rhaenys looked at Maera, who lowered her gaze. Any mention of Jaehaerys beheading made her feel nauseous. She could've stopped it, she really could've but she didn't, and it will haunt her till her last breath.

"Or when Aemond killed Luke, or when Luke took Aemond's eye." Rhaenys muttered. Maera glared at Rhaenys. "We teeter now at this point where none of it will matter. And the desire to kill and burn takes hold and reason is forgotten. There may be another way."

"Alicent Hightower."

Maera bit her lip. She hasn't heard or thought of that name, and person in days.

Rhaenrya blinked repeatedly. "When last we met, Alicent said I would make a fine queen, you've seen what has happened since then." Rhaenrya said.

"She came to me in the hours after your lord father's death. She knows war is coming and that it'll be savage beyond all compare. There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin. And no war so bloody as a war between dragons. I do not believe she wants it." Rhaenys stated.

"She sent a raven." Rhaenrya whispered. "I do not care to read her message."

"It is not her but the men around her who seek bloodshed." Rhaenys added. "She permitted it." Rhaenrya said. "As you permitted the murder of a little boy in his bed." Rhaenys added.

Maera scoffed. "My mother did not permit Jaehaerys beheading, It was Daemon.. and I who plotted it behind my mother's back, which I deeply regret it, while Alicent does not."

Rhaenrya nods at Maera. "Alicent is in King's Landing. Her son sits my throne."

Maera stood next to her mother while the council meeting was being held. "Still no sightings."

"No men, No horses, no ships, no dragons." Rhaenys added, walking next to Rhaenrya, then sitting on her seat. "Then we must seize the hour and act before the enemy does. they have penetrated our castle walls, and now the Riverlands are aflame after the battle of the burning mill. How fares Prince Daemon with our army?"

"There has been no word from Prince Daemon, Your Grace." The master said. "Then we must press what advantage we do have."

"And what is that?"

"Dragons. Send them all out. Start turning Green stronghold to our cause and burn those who resist."

"No." Rhaenrya said. "If dragons begin fighting dragons we invite our own destruction. Fear of it is in itself a weapon. The Greens will make the same calculation."

Ser Alfred laughed. Maera glared at him, feeling as though he is laughing at Rhaenrya. "The value of a sword is not within its scabbard." He said.

"We will secure victory with animals, not with dragon alone, The Greens understand that. The Vale and the North will send men. We must give Daemon time." Rhaenrya stated.

"Your Grace. you have witnessed firsthand just how vulnerable you are. Prince Daemon is abroad and Aegon's factions are engaged at the death of his son. You have never been so exposed."

"Perhaps it is time for you to think about secret yourself somewhere safe while we remain here as a source of distraction for the enemy."

"You propose to conduct the war in my absence." Rhaenrya scoffed. "It would merely be a precaution!-

"It would be treason. You are fortunate you took it no further." Rhaenrya stands, everyone raises, and Rhaenrya walks away. Rhaenys walks behind Rhaenrya's chair.

"This council would do well to remember that the Queen wears the crown of my grandsire. Jaehaerys the Councilor. A prudent ruler, the wisest of Targaryen kings, whose reign outlasted every other, even Aegon the Conqueror." Rhaenys informs, she strolls off, Maera smiling after her.

Maera turned back to the table. "A word, my lords," Everyone looks to Maera. "A reminder my mother is The Queen, If any of you laughs." Maera looks at Ser Alfred. "or raises their voice at her." She looks at Lord Bartimos. "I will feed you to my dragons."

Those words practically send shivers down their throats. "Is that clear?" Maera questioned. "Yes, Princess." They all said. "Thank you." Maera nodded at them, leaving the room.

Maera held onto Aegon the Younger in her arms. Rhaenrya was going to send Rhaena, and her brothers to the Vale. "Sister." He muttered. "Aegon." Maera leaned her head towards his. Aegon was little, but could speak few words, and somehow understand what someone was saying.

"Go?" He asked. "To the Vale, with your aunt." Maera sadly smiled at him. "N-No Go." Aegon whined. "Viserys is going with you, so is Rhaena." Maera said, "You." Aegon whispered, his hand on Maera's cheek.

"I will stay here, and take care of mother." Maera took his hand kissing it. "Mama?" Aegon asked. Maera nodded her head.

Rhaenrya was speaking to Baela and Rhaena. Maera took a two dragon toys from her pocket. "One for you." Maera gave him one. "And one for Viserys." Maera handed Viserys one who was next to them, being held by a servant.

Maera caressed Viserys head with her left hand. Maera turned to her mother when Joffrey hugged her from behind. "Mommy."

Maera could not bear looking at Joffrey, he looked like Luke when he was little.

"Dragon." Aegon smiled. "Yes, Dragon." Maera smiled. Rhaenrya walks over to them, she first kisses Viserys, then Aegon. Maera kissed Aegon, handing him to a servant, she then kissed Viserys.

Joffrey stood in front of her, waiting for his. Maera knees down. "Joffrey." Maera caressed his face. "Take care of yourself, and little Viserys and Aegon, okay?"

Joffrey nodded, hugging Maera. Maera held tightly onto him, she pulled away, kissing his head. Joffrey walked off, holding a servant's hand. Maera sighed, then stood up. Jacaerys and Maera walk behind their mother.
