SUNDAY, 19 MAY
We are in Cape Town and today is checkout day at The Marly Boutique Hotel and Spa. The company that I received the offer from is from around here so I am staying behind.
The duration of this internship is only 12 to 14 weeks and I'll be done. I want to get a job in the industry and flourish from there. I don't know if I'm doing this correctly but hey, my dad pulled the string, not me.
My dad got me an apartment in Camps Bay and that will make things easier for me. My i8 was brought this side by my uncle and that's the one I'll be using for now.
Anyway, I'm currently headed to the dining hall for breakfast with everyone. Everyone being Athenkosi, my dad and Ntonto. I find them already seated so I just dish up and join them.
Me: good morning.
Ntonto: hey.
Dad: good morning.
Me: how is the adoption process going?
Dad: we are good thanks and how are you?
Me: come on, baba. I don't care about that. I want to know about the adoption process.Let me fill you in, Ntonto found Athenkosi's mother and miss girl really doesn't mind Ntonto taking the baby as her own. It has also been put on the table as a suggestion that they are going to say that the father is incapable of raising him, which is true.
Ntonto: we just have to go see some social workers or rather, they are coming to us to see if our home is suitable for a child and then the rest of the proceeding can take place.
She says feeding Athenkosi with so much love in her eyes.
Me: okay.
Ntonto: and you?
Me: what about me?
Ntonto: are you going to be okay on your own, with that person inside of you. are you sure it's okay for us to leave you by yourself for the next 14 weeks.
Me: yes, I am sure. I will be just fine.
Ntonto: alright then. good luck on your interview then I guess.
Me: thank you, babe.
