Liberty pov
It was a chilly day in Adventure City, I was just strolling, thinking about some stuff. while I was daydreaming, my pup tag got caught on something and flung off my collar, bouncing into a nearby alley." oh no, my pup tag!" without thinking, I raced into the alley to get it. I found it, but as I turned around, two mean-looking alley cats stalked into the space, cornering me. "Where do you think you're going?" asked the cat on the right menacingly
"And what are you doing in our alley?" snarled the cat on the left.
Before I could answer, a deep voice said, "Actually, I think you'll find that this is my alley."
Their eyes went wide. They turned around quickly and faced the voice.
"Unless..., you want to fight me for it?"
"What! No! Of course not" stammered one "We wouldn't dream of it!" said the other.
"Then get out. you know you're not welcome here!" the mystery voice growled.
They ran off like they couldn't get out of there fast enough.
He stepped into the alley, letting me have my first look at the pup who just saved me.
He was a German shepherd, just like Chase. And the similarities didn't stop there. he looked almost exactly like Chase, except he had a white mark on his chest fur like a spiked ring, and he was missing a chunk of his left ear. Also, his eyes were icy blue instead of a warm brown like chases. He was very muscular and tough-looking.
"The name Mason, but you can call me Mace." he said, sounding every inch as strong as he looked." I'm liberty." I introduced myself. "What was their deal?"
He snorted "Those clowns think they own this city, bossing everyone around, acting all tough. But whenever I show up, they scram like the cowards they are." he said.
"Thank you for saving me," I said
"Happy to do it, i never thought that I would get to save a member of the paw patrol."
I blushed a little. "How did you know? I'm in my civilian outfit," I said surprised.
"I recognized you from the news," he said.
"Oh yeah," I realized how much sense that made.
"What were you doing in my alley, anyway?" he asked
"Oh sorry, I didn't realize this was your alley, i can leave if you want," I said nervously, realizing that even though he saved me, I had still invaded his home.
If I had been paying attention to my surroundings while looking for my pup tag, I would have seen the signs that someone lived there. There was a big refrigerator box covered with a tarp to keep out the rain and had an old blanket and pillow in it. there was even a radio in the corner. I wonder what kind of music he likes?
"It's cool," he said "Feel free to hang out for a while, if you would like"
"That's very nice of you, but I have to get back to the lookout." I apologized.
"Maybe we could hang out some other time," I said.
"Sure," he said, "you know where to find me."
I headed back to the lookout. Feeling a bit tired after a good walk, I went to the top level to go to bed early. I fell asleep still thinking about the German shepherd who had saved me that day. He was kind of cute, I thought as I drifted off.
Masons pov
After Liberty left, I went and scrounged up a half-eaten pizza somebody left in the subway. I returned home, ate the pizza, and then turned on my radio to listen to some of my favorite tunes and guess what was playing, the Paw Patrol theme song. Then I went to sleep, still surprised that I had saved a member of the paw patrol instead of the other way around. She was kind of cute too I thought as I drifted off to sleep.
