chapter 9

Libertys pov

We were all at the top of the lookout and waiting for ryder to breif us for our mission.

"Ready for action, ryder sir!" said chase

"Theres a fire at city hall"ryder said "Marshall, I need you to contain the fire with your water cannons and I need liberty and chase for crowd control"

"Im ready for a ruff ruff rescue" marshall replied

Ryder continued "skye, I need you to fly up to carry people out of the burning building,and then transport sand from the beach so that rubble can make a barrier to keep the fire from spreading."

We each got into our vehicles and raced to city hall.ryder put the other pups on standby in case he needed them. Mason hitched a ride with chase.

Me and chase started doing crowd control. He set up caution tape and traffic cones around the area.

"Ruff, megaphone" chase barked "all who are able must vacate the premises, if you are trapped or injured, do not panic, help is on the way!"

I spotted a man who had his leg stuck under a fallen beam not far from the entrance.

"Chase,Im going in" I said

"Wait, Liberty, it's not safe" he warned

"I don't care " I said as I rushed towards the man.

I closed my eyes and strained to get the beam off of his leg, but it was too heavy for me to move, but all of a sudden, It lifted, and I opened my eyes to see mason right beside me.We locked eyes for a second, and then he tackled me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that another heavy beam from the overhang of the building had fallen right where I had been standing before.

We both blushed when we realized how close we were to each other.

"Are you alright?" mason asked as he got up

"Im fine, where did the guy go? " I replied

"He got past the sand barrier, luckily he was just stuck and not injured" mason said

Everyone inside the building had been rescued, so the only concern was stopping the fire from spreading.

10 minutes later

The fire had completely burned itself out by now, and we went back to the lookout.once we were there, ryder gave us a post mission debrief.

"You all did great today, and im especialy proud of mason" ryder said "you jumped in to help without anyone needing to ask, and you saved libertys life"

Mason blushed and looked at me quickly.

Ryder continued"So thats why I wanted to invite you to be an official paw patrol member"

"Wow, really?" said mason, looking adorably astonished.

"That is, if you accept." ryder said

"I accept" said mason

The rest of the paw patrol cheered, but I cheered the loudest.
