If I tell you what happened after, it will take years, because the crisis I made was unbeleivable. Basically, I shook on my sofa like a fucking electric shock, spilt all my popcorn and spilt my drink. Once I actually managed to pick up the phone, I saw that it was from WhatsApp.
Hey Hayley, its Leah from instagram. I just wanted to tell you that I think I have one of your hairbands, you dropped it off your wrist on the way to the changing rooms. You can come over to get it, or I'll come over to yours?
My heart was racing just by reading a few words. The fact that she actually cared to pick up the hairband and not steal it. To be honest, I wouldn't have been able to tell if she hadn't told me. I don't even know what to reply. Should I go there or should she come here? I mean, I am going to see her either way, but I guess me coming here would make more sense. I am the laziest human being ever, and I don't want her to know that to make a bad impression. So, although I really hate to, I decide to go over anyway.
Hey Leah, thank you so much for that. Don't move a muscle, I am coming over :)
I read the message over and over and over again until I am happy to send it. She replied about 5 minutes later.
Don't rush here, take your time x
I mean, if its my hairband and its Leah, then I am not gonna take my time am I? I get my jacket and put my hair up into a bun. I know I am in and out in literally 5 seconds, but you never know. After taking a few deep breaths, I finally open the door and head to the car. Leah sent me her address as well, and I drive around 20 mins to get to her flat. During the ride, I have a few butterflies and my breathing slightly changes, but I eventually manage to play it cool. Once I arrive, I check myself in the mirror just to make sure, but I swear, I have never looked in the mirror so many times. It is raining heavily outside, so I really want to make this quick. I eventually get out of the car, breath before knocking on the door, and Leah opens the door.
"Oh, h-hey." She says nervously. Why is she nervous?
"Hi." I simply say. I swear to god, she looks so good in everything. That slick back ponytail just hits different.
"Wait here." She tells me, leaving me outside. She comes back, holding a hairband which is indeed mine.
"Thanks." I say and I take it. During this moment, our hands slightly brush, giving me so many butterflies, with blood rushing all over my body. I think we are done now, and I really which I could go back home. As much as I really like Leah, I cant stand looking at her while my hair is all wet while she is all nice and dry.
"Right, I think that's it then." I say, as I begin to walk off. Just as I do so, Leah grabs my wrist, making me instantly turn around.
"Do you wanna.. stay in for the night? It is raining a lot outside, and I don't want you to get wet." She tells me. Oh, god. How can I miss my shot there? I have to take it.
"Erm.. y-yeah. Sure." I say, but I sound extremely insecure and I don't know why. My heart really wants to stay, but my voice is telling me otherwise.
"Nevermind. Its okay. I know its a bit random and-"
"No, no, no. I'll stay here, you're right, it is actually raining a lot, so I may as well stay here." I say. I don't tell her about the car, but I can see a smile creeping up her face.
"Okay, come on in." She tells me, struggling to remove a smile of her face. She makes room for me, and I gently squeeze past her to make my way in.
"Do you want a drink?" She asks as I look around the room. It is quite small. Well, maybe a little TOO small. See, I live in a penthouse in the North End, so this is like next level tiny.
"Erm.. yeah sure, if you are okay with it." I tell her, and I see her making an iced drik with squash. She doesn't know, but I love iced water and squash.
"I am more than okay with it." She tells me and lets out a smile. God, I love her smiles. AND she has dimples. My dream girl. Literally. I walk around a while, until I stumble into her room.
The first thing I see are 2 arsenal shirts, both framed and signed. So, she plays for Arsenal? Interesting. I also see a picture with her, and another man, which I hope isn't her boyfriend. They do look quite similar to be fair, so maybe it's a family member. Maybe like a brother. I can see another woman with her, which I imagine it is her mum. She looks quite young and different, so it might've been a picture taken ages ago.
"Hayley?" I hear a voice. Shit, I probably shoudn't be in here. I quietly open the door and see her taking the drink on the table. I walk out acting like nothing has happened, but I think she knows that I came out of her room, because she started smiling about it.
Well, at least she isn't mad.
"I am here." I say quietly, sitting down by her table. Like I said, you have to be ready for any situations, and I am actually quite glad I wore my bun today, since it is the best hairstyle off pitch. I sit opposite her, admiring the view. Her face is honestly so gorgeous.
"Are you okay?" She asks, catching me looking at her. I can feel my cheeks slightly blushing at that.
"Yeah, I am fine." I say. I am really not though. Looking at her while looking at my food was always gonna be tough. I didn't wanna be rude and pull out my phone or anything like that. I actually wanna socialise with her. Unfortunately, because it is so awkward and quiet, I think it is gonna be quite hard to do so.
"Are you busy tomorrow?" She asks, finally breaking the silence. I instantly look up at her. Is she asking me out or something?
"Erm.. no. Why?" I ask. I can see a slight sense of relief through her face. Please ask me out. Please ask me out.
"I was just asking." She says. I feel like she is hiding something from me, its just I don't know what it is. But I am not gonna lie, I was a bit upset.
"Oh..oh, ok." I say. I give her a smile, but she looks a bit more shy than she did 5 mins ago. Once I finish my drink, I check the time, and it is time for me to go home. She walks me to the door while I wave her goodbye, and I wait until she fully closes the door until I can step into my car. Once I get in, I take a deep breath and put my hands and head on the wheel. What the fuck is wrong with me? Why was I so shy? Why was I being an idiot?
I arrive back home, laying on my bed with my hands on my head. What have I done?
You useless bitch.
