After the game, me and Leah begin to head home. We blast Taylor Swift music, and ride all the way home. I still cant believe she surprised me like that. I had no intention she was coming at all.
During our car ride home, I hear a ping from my phone.
Rachel
Yooo, we are having a party at my house after the win, Catlin and Alessia are coming too. You coming?
After I read this, I look over at Leah. Rachel doesn't know that me and Leah are.. not official, but she doesn't know that I have been talking to her. The only people who actually know are Chloe and Catlin. And I almost spilt the truth at the bus ride yesterday. Luckily I saved myself. I need to ask Leah.
"Leah?"
"Yeah?
"Are you busy tonight?" I really hope she says no.
"Erm.. no. Why? Got anything planned for me Rookie?" She says with a laugh. I have to smile at that. I love it when she calls me Rookie. I think I like it more than her calling me by my actually name.
"Yeah, I actually do. The girls wanna celebrate the win the win today by throwing a party at one of their houses. Catlin and Alessia are gonna be there too. Do you want to go?" I say. I instantly see her face changing a bit. "I-its okay if you don't want to, I was just asking." I quickly say.
"I would love to go. But, if its with YOUR team, why are Catlin and Alessia going, if they are on MY team?" She asks. She isnt mad. I can see that she is just curious.
"Oh, well.. Catlin and Chloe are really good friends, and Alessia and Chloe are cousins." I tell her. She looks a bit shocked by that.
"Really? They are cousins?" she asks with shock. They actually are cousins though.
"Yeah, they are. Rachel just asked me if I could come, and well.. I wanted to bring you with me. Do you want to?" I ask. I am actually really nervous for some reason.
"Yeah, I would love to! I would love to see your teammates. maybe one day you'll be able to meet mine." She says. All of a sudden, relief washes over my body.
"I would love to meet your teammates too." I tell her, and she smiles at that. A few minuites later, we arrive at her house. Before I get out of the car, she stops me.
"Do you mind if I come in?"
"Oh-erm.. sorry, my brother is here, and I also need to get ready for the party." I blurt out. Oh my goodness. I am so bad at lying. But I think she believed me.
"Oh- ok. Its fine. I better get ready too. Send me the address and time, yeah?"
"Of corse." I say. "Thanks for the lift by the way."
"Anytime." she says, as I get out the car.
"Wait, Rookie?" She interrupts. I stop there and turn around.
"Yeah?"
"That will be 20 pounds." She says. What? Is she being serious? 20 pounds for that?
"What? No way." I say, nervously chuckling. She eventually cant hold in her laughter.
"Yeah, I know, Im joking. Now go, I am not gonna keep you any longer, I promise." She says with a giggle. I dont even get out. In fact, I lean over to her, placing a firm kiss on her right cheek. As I pull back, her face is flushed.
"Thank you for the ride, seriously." I say. She looks away from me now.
"Its okay mate. Now you seriously need to go now." She says with a laugh.
