Angelo

"So, tell me what brought you here to Italy? I thought you were enjoying touring the world," I asked as Annie said followed me to my study room after dinner. Annie is my cousin, my aunt's daughter. I wouldn't say we grew up together, but she spent many of her holidays with us. Annie is a prestigious writer who sold a thousand copies of her debut novel.

"Don't even say you're here for inspiration. Why can't you stay in one place to get inspiration? You don't have to travel around," I remarked.

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "You didn't even give me time to explain."

"Okay, go on. Explain to me," I urged.

Leaning over the desk, she began, "Well... I'm here because I've missed you."

I rolled my eyes. "Don't feed me lies. Who are you chasing this time?"

Annie had always been a popular girl. With crushes from every direction. And she doesn't stay in one place when it comes to men. She like a guy today, next morning, she would dump him.

"Argh! Why don't you believe me? I'm here because I've missed you. I'm currently on a writing break and needed somewhere to clear my mind. And you came to mind. But you haven't really changed much."

"If you're here to check up on how I've changed, pack up and leave," I retorted.

She made a face. "You're mean!" Stomping her feet, she elicited a small laugh from me. "Are you a small kid?"

"No, but you're trying to make me one. Anyways, it's good to see you again, Angelo," she said more seriously.

"It's good to see you too. Why don't we chat later? Let me finish up my work," I suggested.

She nodded. "Always the workaholic. Take it easy on the enemies." I only shook my head, watching as she left the room before refocusing on my laptop. Resting my jaw on my hands, I observed Alessia pacing around the room. I knew she was taken aback when I introduced her as the maid. She needed to realize what she was missing. She was so confident that she wasn't affected by me and that she didn't care. Now, I've left her restless. Next time, she'd think before saying anything. The reason why I couldn't move further, even though every part of me, every demon in me, was pulling me to kiss the life out of her body. However, her words rang in my head. I don't give in to a woman. They give in to me. And I wanted her to come to me of her own accord, to beg me to satisfy her.

I minimized the surveillance camera back to my worksheets. I spent more than an hour discussing the art exhibition with my team, the upcoming and one of the biggest art exhibitions in the city. After finishing the conference call, I closed off the laptop. A yawn escaped me; what I needed was sleep. The exhibition was in two days' time, but I trusted my team to handle it well. I've been in the business for more than six years, and Dominic had tried harming the business to no avail. Powerful investors from different parts of the world have supported my art collection business, making it difficult for him to destroy it.

"Hey, workaholic, don't tell me you're just leaving your office," Annie said as she approached me, dressed in her nightwear. My eyes couldn't help but glance at her exposed cleavage. Annie is a beautiful woman, indeed, with perfect curves in all the right places.

"Of course. What have you been up to?" I asked, removing the keys from the door.

She folded her arms across her chest as we walked towards my room. "Nothing much. Just chatting with the guys. You said that the young girl, Alessia, is a maid. I saw her entering that room. Isn't that the guest room?"

Okay, I had also forgotten that Annie has a knack for asking questions. "She's actually not a maid but assisting the maid," I clarified. Annie looked at me, confused.
