Alessia

I didn't know how he managed to make my whole body weak but it was the way his heart was thumping loudly through my palms. Every part of me wants to hate him. Every part of me was screaming at me to hit him. But I couldn't. My heart wasn't in agreement with my mind and body. I found myself melting in his touch. "Why are you doing this to me, Angelo." I choked out the words.

"Why do you keep making me this vulnerable for you? Why can't I find the hatred in my heart for you? Why?" I pleaded.

He used his other hand to cup my face. "Because you want this too." He whispered. "You can't hate me because you don't have that kind of heart in you. You're not heartless."

He stopped talking and ran his thumb over my cheeks making me weaker than I was. "Like me." The expression in his eyes mirrored his words and emotions. "Call me inhuman, heartless, or any bad names. But forgive me, I can't let you go now."

I didn't know why at that moment, the only response I could think of to give him, was resting my forehead against his. I could feel my heart drumming inside. With pain and something indescribable. "What do you intend to do with me then? How would you make up the hole inside me."

"I will protect you. With everything in me, Alessia." He broke. His words had a great effect on my brain and heart. I nodded my head. "Alright. But promise me you will set me free when everything gets smooth."

"I promise you, Alessia." We stood in that position. Lost in each other's eyes and embrace. Our heartbeat moving in sync. Angelo was the first to pull away. "Would you mind eating your dinner now?" He gestured. That made a chuckle escape me.

"Only if you'd feed me." I teased. His eyes sparkled. One that made my heart skip a beat.

"I will do that. Only if you'd allow me." I said nothing in response which gave him the go-ahead to move me to the bed.

He sat down next to me with the tray being the barrier between our bodies. He scooped the macaroni on the spoon. "Here. Open your mouth."

I shook my head. "I was just kidding. I can eat myself."

He frowned. "Just open your mouth. I want to feed you." Well, the idea of him feeding me sounds nice. But how would I stay still when my heart was shooting from every direction? "Uhm?" He pressed again.

I slowly opened my mouth and he fed me the almost cold food. "Thank you." I muffled out shyly. He fed me like three spoons when I turned my face away. "I'm full."

"With only three spoons? No. You have to clear everything from this plate."

I shook my head pouting as if I was going to cry. "I will throw up if I force myself to eat."

"You won't. Trust me. I'm here with you."

Maybe he didn't know but the words 'I'm here with you' had triggered my heart. I cast my head down fidgeting with my fingers. Maybe I was too soft in letting my guard down.

I heard the sound of him taking the tray away, and squatting closer. Next thing, his hand was lifting my face. "What now?"

"Nothing. I'm good." I said pulling my face away. But he never let go. He stared into my eyes—or should I say, my soul. Because the feeling that was coursing through my body right that moment, couldn't be explained.

"I can see right through you, you know." He raised a brow. I gulped down. "What do you see?" I found my lips blurting out the question.

His eyes then shifted down to my lips, together with his fingers caressing them. "You want..." He trailed off leaning closer. I tightened my hands over my lap. "Me.." He went on again. Our breathing was fanning against each other's faces.
