Alessia
I stared at the whiteboard boringly as Marco explained what there was to know about the client I would be working with. He had been on one thing for the past two hours going from one direction to another. I told them I could handle it myself but they wouldn't free me saying Angelo had assigned them to coach me.
"Can we rest for a bit?" I said jerking my head back in an exhausting manner. "Your teaching is boring," I added seeing as he wasn't ready to back down.
"I won't be held responsible by Angelo though."
"You have nothing to worry about. I can handle him." I dismissed. Kelvin was the one who started the coaching. He told me the kind of person Mrs. Martinez is. A woman who owns a lot of popular fashion agencies in Italy. A hot-tempered and no-nonsense woman.
I know I wasn't up for any competition but thinking about how I would be introduced to a different world sends chills down my spine. "Hi, guys." Annie's voice sounded through the door. She was holding a tray containing three glasses of drinks. Kelvin is the only one absent there.
"I figured out you guys would be exhausted. Here." I wasted no time in taking one and drank almost half of it in one go. "Thank you for this Annie. I needed it." I said giving her a thumbs up.
She grabbed her seat on one of the empty stools. We were using the balcony for the coaching. I didn't know there was a balcony that had a beautiful scene to watch out. I decided to visit it frequently. It looks hideous.
"So what have you learned so far, Alessia?" Annie broke. I heaved out an exhausting sigh. "A tough battle," I answered.
"There's nothing tough in as much as you're well prepared. Mrs. Martinez isn't that hard to please. That's if you know what you're doing." Elijah chirped in who had been quiet all the while.
"Alright." I formed my lips into a thin line. They all wouldn't understand the nervousness I was feeling inside. I was only keeping on a cool face.
"How do you deal with writing Annie?" I decided to shift the topic. Annie raised her hand in surrender.
"Don't get me started on that. I have been on the procrastination side for about a week now. I've not written shit."
"I thought the ideas just rush like water."
"It's not as easy as it may sound to people. Writing is not easy. It frustrates the life out of you. That's why I'm taking all the time I need. So I have a plan for you guys."
I raised a brow. "What plan?"
"Let's get out of here. I need a change of environment. Take go out and have some fun. It's boring staying in one place for the whole day."
"Sounds nice," I said in total agreement with her plans. I had been wanting to go out too. To get my head cleared out from everything. I still haven't gotten to the bottom of the lack of communication with my parents. You won't believe me but I send them messages every day. With the hopes of getting a reply back. I knew it'd come.
"I don't think Angelo will join us," Marco interjected. I gave him a confused brow. "Why?"
"He seems too occupied these days. He hardly leaves his room. So...." He trailed off. Just in time Annie and I exchanged glances.
"Do you want me to do the work or you will handle it?" She asked.
A smile curved up my lips. "Let me try my luck. If it doesn't work, you take over." I said getting off the stool.
Annie clapped her hands together. "Alright, guys. Let's get ready on standby. We're going to the beach. If Angelo doesn't tag along, we enjoy ourselves."
Annie chimed. I gave her a thumbs-up before walking out.
