Alessia

"Good morning, Lilian," I greeted as I stepped inside the kitchen. I didn't even know what time it was. I barely had enough sleep due to last night. Angelo didn't release me back to my room until late midnight. And I found sleep too difficult to come by.

"Good morning, Alessia. Looks like you had trouble sleeping last night." I didn't miss the hint of tease in her voice. Initially, I didn't plan to bring up the topic. But since she practically had a hand in whatever happened last night, maybe it would be wise enough of me to confront her.

"I didn't. All thanks to you," I said with a forced smile. My eyes didn't waver from hers.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She pushed, turning her focus to cleaning the counter, which I didn't know how many times she had cleaned one spot. "I think you need some explanation to do," I broke.

She heaved out a sharp breath, then turned to face me again. "I was just trying to reconcile you both. I see that you were hurt by his actions," she confessed.

"And?"

"And nothing. I did the right thing. Because I'm sure you two have patched things up." A blush suddenly tinged my cheeks at the image of last night. I don't know if I should say we have reconciled. Were we even fighting in the first place?

"See, you're blushing. Spill the beans," she nudged me on the arm. I shook my head in refusal. "Nah. You're getting no gist," I spat.

"What gist?" Our heads spun to the voice of Annie at the door. She watched the two of us with a look of suspicion. "What are you guys gossiping about so early in the morning?" She pressed on, stepping inside the kitchen.

I can't deny the fact that Annie is beautiful. She looked collected and had a natural body figure. Does she go to the gym? Because her body says it all. I diverted my eyes away, realizing I was staring far too much.

"Nothing. Alessia here decided to wake up early today and help me in the kitchen," I threw Lillian a look. I don't remember saying that. Before I could speak up, Annie beat me to it. "That's great, Alessia. Let me join you guys too. Had a whole exhausting session with my editor last night. I need a massage for my muscles."

"I can help you with that," A familiar voice chirped from the door. He looked undeniably hot in the morning. And to say that the fact that a few of his shirt buttons were left open didn't calm me. It reminded me of the steamy night last night.

"Angelo, you're up too? What's with the early morning convo?" Annie walked up to him. My eyes somehow lingered on the way Annie's palms were rested on his visible chest. And Angelo didn't seem to bother.

"It's all because of last night," he spoke. The rate at which my heart was racing grew twofold. "What happened last night?" Annie pressed on.

"Last night..." he trailed off, his eyes going to me. For the life of me, I thought my heart was going to pull out of its socket. I tried as much as I could not to make it obvious. "It was epic. I'm off to the gym," and then his eyes finally left mine.

"Let me go with you. You have to give me a massage," Annie followed him out. I didn't realize I had been staring at the door for too long until Lillian cleared her throat.

"You can tag along if you want to. I'm sure you'd need a massage too."

"No, I'm not interested," I spat, sparing the door another look as if they would appear again.

"Looks like someone is jealous," I used the cloth I was cleaning the table and lunged it at Lillian. "Leave me alone!" She chuckled in return.

My mood was sour throughout breakfast because of the way Annie was busy with the guys. She was the center of attention. I was only sitting there, pretending I was concentrating on my food. "Angelo, you didn't ask me how my visit to Mom's place went."
