Third POV

After the long slight awkward breakfast, Charlie said his goodbyes and a grunt farewell to Simon.

"Well that went better than I thought." Seth stated, leaning back into the chair. It protested beneath his weight, he was growing faster and bulkier with age.

Leah rolled her eyes at her careless brother but Simon responded with a soft nod.

"I suppose so," Sue hummed in agreement, scrubbing the dishes. "Simon and Leah, the elders will be ready by tonight to do the ceremony."

"Well I would know of the ceremony if you weren't so cryptic" Leah stated, business was plastered on her face. "Why do we need to do this?"

Sue placed the soapy dish down and turned around, wiping her hands with a hand cloth that happened to be hanging near by.

"Simon. Have you ever drunk human blood?" Sue bluntly asked, her dark brown eyes staring into his soul...or it seemed it was to Simon.

"Yes. But once." Simon admitted, Leah's jaw dropped at her mom's absurd question.

"You don't need to ask him that!" She exclaimed

"Well Simon, take this ceremony as a curse if you still hungered for human blood...Once they join your venom and Leah's blood in a mix of a handful of herbs from the reservation..." Sue ignored Leah's outburst, she was use to her outbursts "It will tie you to the land of our people and our goal...and that is to protect."

Simon listened carefully, his eyes widened at the new information.

"If you gave into the urge to kill a human...you will end up killing your self and Leah."

"What?" Simon and Leah spoke at the same time, Leah's cheeks were flushed with red slightly at the moment but quickly faded at the situation.

"The elders have connections to a spiritual elder, she will bond you two for life...stronger than the imprint bond, I've heard." Sue added on nonchalantly before turning back to her soapy dish, leaving three shocked faces.

"So a witch?" Seth asked, astounded by the new information.

"No, a spiritual elder." Sue corrected her son.

Leah and Simon turned to look at each other, their eyes connecting with the same shocked expression. Simon wasn't afraid but Leah thought it was too soon, she knew there was no budging with the elders.

"What if one of us don't want to be locked together by life." Leah commented, quite bluntly, Simon kept his now hurt gaze on her. He was ready to be tied to her, maybe since he was waiting for ages to find her while she only had to wait measly 21 years for him.

"Doesn't work that way. You and him are already pass being tied together since the moment your eyes locked with his." Sue stated, keeping her back turned.

Seth was watching his mother and sister basically shoot back and forth, also seeing how Simon's expression saddens with every refusal that Leah throw back.

"Maybe, let them go on an actual date first before shoving this...witchcraft thing at them." Seth chimed in, his bright brown eyes looking at his mother's back.

Sue finished the dishes and turned to look at her two kids and let out a sigh.

"I suppose so, I'll talk to the council and see if they agree with it beforehand." Sue spoke, her daughter let out a released sigh. "It isn't witchcraft, Seth"
