Simon POV

I sucked a unnecessary breath in as I saw the goddess before me. This had to be the most beautiful I've ever seen Leah, the moon light shining onto her tan skin and her eyes held no disgust but curiosity...it seemed like she was serious about trying to work this...predicament out but the thing that stopped me from talking was that one moment I slipped.

All I could see was the bright green eyes of my victim, she held them in horror as I approached like she seen a ghost...I really wished I was a ghost.

Leah cleared her throat, bringing me back to this moment. I muttered a low apology before letting out the breath.

"Me and Carlisle went way back, 1658." I began, Leah took a gasp at the year. "I was born that year...anyways, when Carlisle went 'missing', I was enjoying my youth. I took over helping my father with the farm and harvesting...unfortunately, I got attacked by a nomad vampire."

Leah let out a low growl from within her chest, that took both of us by surprise but she still beckoned me to continue with my story.

"At that time I was nineteen and was arranged to marry a family friend." I spoke softly, "I didn't know what I was but I was glad the burning sensation was gone...I had this awful thirst and was heading home, thinking that maybe a sip from the well would help but...no, everything took a turn for the worst."

I glanced at Leah, trying to see her expression but it wasn't a normal disgust that I would assume. It was intrigued, she was definitely listening.

"The family friend's family house was on the way to my farm...I smelt something so appealing and followed it, when I did it was too late..." I paused. "My hands were paws and those paws covered in blood, I ended up killing Natalie..."

Flashbacks occurred, all I can see was her corpse laid onto the field that she was unfortunately checking on, her limbs were scattered as if a beast attacked her and there was not much blood...it was all matted on my fur.

"I thought god cursed me into a werewolf, children of the moon" I added, I glanced at her from the corner of my eye. "It was only the next day that I shifted back into my human form, I vowed never to be around humans...I lived off the forest around there, animals. I managed to dodge hunters and all the villagers and I met other nomads.."

"What did Natalie's family do?" Leah asked quietly, she held herself.

"I didn't stick around to see what happened but I did catch wind that they thought a wolf got to her...especially with her being out late." I explained "My family thought that same exact animal got me too, thinking I was sneaking out to meet Natalie in the late hours."

"Oh" Leah murmured. her head rested on her knees, causing her hair to fall over her face. "I'm sorry that you had to go through that alone.."

My eyes widened in shock as I looked at her, I didn't think she would be sympathetic at all to this horror story I called life.

"I dealt with it for a while but then I met Peter and Charolette then I reunited with Carlisle" I spoke and softly smiled at those fond memories, I chuckled "it was like he saw a ghost"

Leah giggled slightly, it was a melodic and it made me feel like I had a heart again.

"So enough about me...tell me about yourself." I stated, flopping onto my back and began to look at the stars. "I know you must've had a hard life as well"

Leah followed the same position I was but wiggled farther from me, I didn't take it in offense but still yearned for her.

"My life is pretty rough...being an older sister to a chaotic gremlin, my ex boyfriend chose my cousin over me and my dad died due to a heart attack..." she answered nonchalantly, letting out a deep sigh.

"So...a lot of pain?" I assumed, I tilted my head to meet her eyes.

"Yea.." she answered softly, it was nearly like a sigh.

I nodded and looked above at the stars above us, ignoring the looming tree branches that seemed to stretch for each other.

"Hopefully, you will find happiness." I spoke in a comforting tone, she hummed in response.

"I already found it...I just don't know how to accept it." She stated, there was a hint of a smile in her voice but that wasn't the thing that shock me...it was her words.

"I promise, I will never hurt you" I promised, my eyes glancing to her. She looked tired and as if she was about to fall asleep instantly.

"I'll remember that..." she mumbled before her eyes fully closed. I chuckled and looked above at the stars. Wondering how they made me the luckiest demon on earth. ...
