Chapter 8 (Leah POV)

After one night from Simon was horrible, the dreams were too surreal that it woke me up...numerous times. I had a family with him, a little girl that had bright hazel eyes and his light wavy curls with my sleek black color and a little boy that looked identical to him but with brown eyes and straight hair like mine. It pains me to just think about a family with him...it was bittersweet.

I sat up in bed, it use to be Bella's and all I could smell was a certain leech's scent that lingers in this room still even if it's been almost a year since Bella moved out.

I let out a huff before getting up and switching out of my mom's pajamas into some spare clothing I leave here in case of emergencies, I did a stretch and left the room.

Mom was cooking and I believed Charlie left for work, I headed down stairs to see a happy Seth with a mouthful of eggs and my mom still cooking on the stove, I came up behind her to snatch a slice of bacon from a bowl. She let out a light chuckle before turning around and crossing her arms over her chest, she shot me a stern playful look.

"Well look who's up!" She exclaimed with a smile "I heard you imprinted!"

I choked on the slice of bacon real quick as Seth let out a muffled laugh, I shot him a glare and looked at her. I swallowed the slice quickly and took a seat at the table across from Seth.

"Who told you?"

"I believe it was Billy! Who is it? Is it from someone from the reservation?" My mom questioned, she doesn't know...that it was a Cullen. "Was it Jeremy that helps run the shop up there?"

"No" I stated, I shot a glance to Seth and he all he did was to nod to tell her. Then I thought she's going to find out at the bonfire anyways, she is part of the council. I let out a light sigh. "It's a Cullen."

Her chipper little expression dropped to a shocked look, she nearly dropped her spatula that she was holding to point at me.

"A Cullen?" She asked, her eyes were wide as saucers. "I thought all of them had mates?"

"A secret Cullen...his name is Simon." I answered.

"Simon? I didn't know about him." She answered emotionless, I nodded lightly.

"The rest of the council will need to hear about this." She murmured softly, she turned her attention back to the stove.

"They will, we're going to the meeting tonight." Seth chipped in, he grabbed a slice of bacon off his plate. "Simon is very cool! His powers are even cooler!"

I kicked his leg under the table, he grunted before shooting me a glare that I returned back to him harshly.

"What's his power?" Mom asked, her voice hinted curiosity. She didn't bother to look back at us, she was more focused on her thoughts and cooking.

"He can shift into animals." I mumbled out, she froze momentarily before glancing back at me over her shoulder.

"Well that's one thing to mention at the meeting." She replied, I hummed in agreement. Mom placed my plate in front of me and sat down with hers, rest of  the breakfast was silent.

Seth and I arrived later on that night to the bonfire after a short run around the reservation, thankfully mom arrived before us and saved us some food. My stomach was growling but not as much as Seth's, we walked to the crowd, everyone from both packs were here along with the council that contained my mom, Billy, and Quil's grandfather.

I kept making eye contact with all pack members, they watched with saddened eyes and then there was Paul's. His eyes were narrowed at me, his lip curled up in a scoff as he saw me.

Paul opened his mouth to say something snarky but Billy quickly shut him down with his voice.

"Everyone! The meeting is starting." Billy's voice echoed on the cliff, everyone including me, ushered around the fire. "I've heard Leah imprinted...where is he?"

I felt all eyes darted to me, Jake placed his hand on my shoulder. I looked to him with nervous eyes, I didn't even noticed him near me.

"My imprint couldn't be here." I announced, my voice was a bit colder sounding as I noticed I said 'imprint'. It made it seem more real. "There is a problem."

"What's the problem?" Quil's grandfather asked, his voice sounded gravely as he looked me in the eye.

"He's a Cullen." I stated, as soon as that escaped only Billy and the grandfather let out a hoarsely gasp.

"How is that possible!" Billy exclaimed, he was definitely stunned by the statement.

"It isn't the first time." Quil's father spoke, that gained everyone's attention real quick. "I'm shocked that you, Billy, didn't even know it was one of your family members."

Billy looked even more shocked but still let Quil's grandfather continue.

"It was Dorothy Black, Ephraim's sister." Quil began "It was so short but it still happened. Once Dorothy shifted, she began exploring around the forest and came across a vampire and imprinted but kept him a secret."

Everyone was too drawn in the story to dare interrupt the elder.

"One day, that certain vampire met death at our hands. He was the one from the story, he had already claimed a vampire mate long before he met Dorothy and that female vampire strike our tribe for two reasons...those reasons being that we killed her 'mate' but also because someone in the tribe was his true love."

I sucked in a breath at the thought, could Simon already have chosen someone? Would I be second place again to someone better?

"The tribe was attacked as you've all heard before, after the attack, Dorothy explained everything to Ephraim and was banned."

"How can that be?" Billy asked, his voice softer than before.

"Because he placed the blame on her for all the lives that were loss. She left the tribe and was discovered dead from heartbreak." Quil's grandfather finished, everyone at once was whispering and talking.

"What do you mean by heart break?" Seth asked, Quil's grandfather looked over to him.

"If the person's imprint dies, the person that imprint will also perish. They can't live without the person." Quil's grandfather swiftly answered.

I was still taken back, I couldn't even bother eating anything as I quickly looked away from Quil's grandfather and into the flames of the fire. Seth snuggled closer to me in comfort, I still didn't look away from the hungry flames.

The rest of the bonfire consist of everyone ,but me, eating and joking around as I was being consumed by thoughts of me and Simon. What hell am I going to do?!?

If I don't accept to love him, I will literally go crazy or even die!

I quickly got off the log that I was on and ran my way towards the forest, shifting into my wolf and heading my way to the Cullens.

I need to see Simon
