Chapter 4

Leah didn't bother looking surprised at my statement but the opposite, she let out a heavy sigh as she looked over to the wilderness around us.

"We can never be...I don't see how the hell this happened? Possibly a mistake?" Leah spoke, mumbling the last bit to herself. "I always thought that me and Sam would get married after finishing highschool, our kids running around with their grandfather...but the thing is...you blood suckers always get in the way."

I looked shocked and confused as I watched her, she looked up at me with such spiteful eyes that if I was human, I would be 12 feet under already.

"If no vampires existed or even came close to this town, everything would be perfect." She snapped "Me and Sam would be together still, my father would be alive and I wouldn't be a curse...the only female wolf shifter in the whole history of my tribe!"

"But guess what? Nothing can work out right for me...Sam imprinted on my own cousin! My dad is dead! And now I have to deal with a whole pack of testosterones! Oh yeah! Let's put the cherry on the top of this whole thing and add on a vampire imprint!"

I stood speechless at her whole outburst, trying to think of someway to make it better but I just couldn't, my eyes bore into hers once again.

"Don't look at me!" She snapped once again, "this pull makes it so hard to hate you or even be angry at you."

I averted my eyes away from her before speaking.

"Don't think I wished this...I never thought of having someone like the rest of my family members do...I was fine being alone but I always yearned for someone to be there with me." I started off, my voice was quite low and calm. "If I could, I would take your pain and give you happiness so you can go live a normal life...I'm sorry."

After speaking, I could hear her light sniffles but I didn't bother trying to look. I can tell she hated for someone to see her cry, she was afraid of looking weak.

"If you don't want to even bother with me then I understand...I'll let you be, but if you ever need someone, I'm here." I stated "I've waited years, I can wait more if needed. I won't be leaving anytime soon."

I waited to hear any replies or even a rebuttal but it was deathly silent, I glanced at her out of the corner of my eye and saw that she was watching me with an emotionless expression . I let out a unneeded sigh before walking in the direction of the house, I couldn't stand to see her upset anymore.

"Remember, I'll be here if needed." I said with a slight wave of my fingers, I headed into the forest and quickly sprinted off to the Cullen's house. I saw Jacob standing on the porch along with Edward, they seemed to be conversing until they noticed I appeared. Jacob watched me with narrowed eyes but Edward had a sorry look to his.

"Jacob told me about the imprinting." Edward spoke, answering my next question quickly. "I don't see how it could work."

"I don't think it would be much different." Jacob spoke, his eyes still watching me like a hawk. "How did it go?"

"Awful." I curtly answered "she hates my guts along with her blaming me and my kind for everything that happened to her."

"She is sort of right." Jacob answered bluntly before letting out a growl when Edward elbowed him in the ribs 'lightly' "shit that hurts."

"What he meant is that if we never showed up here, no wolves would've existed but there was always a chance of nomads re-activating the genes though." Edward stated with a bit of a curious tone to the end, Jacob rolled his eyes at Edward's explanation.

"She will come around though...no one ever stays from their imprintee for long." Jacob said with a light shrug "she could not confront you but maybe she'll do extra patrols around this house when you're not expecting or at least be near."

"I think she can't even feel the pull as much as you or another wolf does with their imprintee though." I stated "unless she's so stubborn to try to resist the pull."

"Oh she's definitely stubborn alright, but she can't resist something that she can't control for too long." Jacob said, with a amused expression on his face.

"Why's that?" I asked

"Because her body will make her come near you...she won't have a mind of her own, all she will think about is you." Jacob explained.

"Oh so lik-"did you beat up Jacob?!" I got interrupted by I assume is Bella, she came walking out of the house in a brisk manner.

"Oh did you run and tell Nessie?" I teased Jacob, earning a short growl in response from Jacob.

"No, thankfully she's asleep but he walked in here all dirty and rugged looking" Bella explained, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why did you decide to attack him?"

"Because it's messed up for him to imprint on your daughter" I replied in a 'duh' tone, Edward let out a chuckle. "Why didn't you kill him?"

"Oh she tried" Edward stated with a smirk on his face, he was leaning off the railing of the porch, he definitely enjoyed seeing that shit fest happening.

"I did not!" Bella exclaimed, embarrassed that she got caught. Jacob snickered along with Edward.

"Yes you did! And almost ended up hurting me in the end!" I believed Seth hollered out of the Cullen's house, Bella glanced to the house before quietly exclaiming "shut up Seth!"

"Such a hypocrite" I teased her with a tsk tsk at the end, I shook my head then realized I was already dirtied up from the failed assassination of Jacob. "I hope you can excuse me, I'd love to get cleaned up before Carlisle's pesky questions of how I feel towards a certain wolf shifter and how it came to be."

"I'll give you 20 minutes then you're mine." Carlisle stated, from his office? Damn, vampire hearing! That earned a couple of laughs and chuckles along the house. I sighed as I made my way up the stairs onto the house and then finally into the house, damn stairs.

I quickly used my speed to target the guest restroom, I assumed Alice saw my decision and laid out a pair of nice dark faded pants and a white shirt with a cozy looking flannel. She did always say that I was the only one allowed in the house to rock flannels, I chuckled at the memory before jumping into the shower with one last thought.

She'll come back for me...sooner than she hoped
