Chapter 12 (Leah & Simon pov)

Simon POV

After our sweet little moment, Leah had to head to Charlie's and I took that as a sign to go visit my family.

I took one final glance at the dark meadow before sprinting to the house, dodging the trees quickly and a couple of boulders then finally came to a stop. All the lights were off except the living room, I'm guessing to look more 'human' if anyone decided to drop by even if it was like 4 in the morning.

I bounded onto the front porch steps and opened the door to see Emmett sprawled out on the couch, laying his head on Rosalie's lap. His bright amber eyes took me in and did a goofy grin that I returned with a raised brow, Rosalie didn't notice a thing as she continued to flip through a magazine.

"So look who's here...the beast tamer!" Emmett exclaimed before letting a couple of laughs out, Rosalie bit her lip as she tried not to laugh along. I easily replied to Emmett with a middle finger and that even tickled him even more.

"Come on! Sit with us, tell us how Leah is...break any houses or ANYTHING?" Emmett asked with a wiggle of his brows. "Like something juicy because Bella and Edward are so....vanilla and...tamed." Emmett spit out the last three words out in disgust.

"We haven't even kissed yet! We just now hugged for the first time!" I exclaimed, if I was human, I would be so red. "Also if I did anything...why would I tell you?"

"He has a point, Em" Jasper commented as he stepped off the stairs, Alice was nowhere to be seen....shockingly. "Alice is over at Bella and Edward's house, trying to see if she can switch all their wardrobes...for spring."

"Oh" I simply replied, that definitely did sound like Alice. I took my eyes off of Jasper to look at a pouting Emmett, he tilted his head to look directly up at Rosalie.

"They are so mean, babe." He stated, trying to have her on his side. Rosalie placed the magazine down momentarily and looked down at him with a knowing look, her hands played with his black curls.

"Stop asking about people's sex lives." Rosalie replied back, so emotionless and I believed that is what sent me and Jasper laughing. Emmett's pout deepens as he exchanged looks between me and Jasper, he quickly sat up and crossed his arms.

"You all are so mean to me, I was just seeing how you and Leah were!" Emmett argued, my laughs quiet down.

"Well me and Leah are a bit rocky still...but speaking of that, is Carlisle here?" I quickly remembered the conversation with Seth earlier, Rosalie shook her head and replied "No, he got called in."

"Dammit! Anyways the council of the tribe wants Leah and me to do this sort of ceremony...something that ties us closer together? It's confusing..." I explained.

"That sounds strange.." Jasper commented "I wonder why they haven't forced that ceremony with Ness and Jacob."

"Probably because she's a kid and half human...she hasn't and honestly shouldn't accept the imprint." I stated, my tone a slight snarl when I imagined Jacob. "Me and Leah accepted that we were imprints...and it's completely legal too."

Emmett erupted in guffaws at that while Jasper shrugged in agreement at my statement, Rosalie was ready to leave us.

Once I saw Charlie's house in view, I slowed
my pace and reached their steps in a calm manner even if my heart was pounding as I soaked up the thoughts of the moment with Simon. I let out a light sigh before turning the door knob, I opened the door quietly and saw Seth sitting on the couch with the tv on, lowly buzzing.

"Hey" I lightly greeted, trying to make sure not to wake up Charlie or my mom. I can easily hear Charlie's heavy snoring from the room but nothing that can signify that my mom was still asleep, Seth smiled softly with a little wave.

I took that as my cue to sit on the opposite of the couch, I turned so I could face Seth.

"So what was Simon talking about?" I asked, a thousand questions poured in my head as I thought of the council. Seth sighed lightly before turning his whole body to face me, his face definitely show some exhaustion from running patrol with Jake.

"The council wants you and Simon to preform a spiritual ceremony...someway that they can have Simon bonded to you that if he does attack or feed off a human...it hurts you in the end." Seth explained, his normal excited tone was definitely not used to explain it. It was a bitter tone.

"How could they do that?" I exclaimed quietly "he is a vampire, I doubt he could fall under the tribe's magic."

"But the thing is, his kind is what awakes our magic." Mom spoke, her voice was quiet but it came out clear from the stair case. I turned to her quickly, my eyes caught her wide brown stern eyes.

"It's to guarantee a better future for you and our people...you are a protector, he is what you're suppose to be protecting the tribe from." mom explained, she was wearing a pale blue robe that was tied neatly at her waist. She walked down the stairs quietly, Charlie was snoring extremely loud so thankfully, he didn't wake up. "Quil's grandfather has information about our tribe's magic, passed down by the chief...it doesn't involve much other than I believe a drop of your blood and a drop of his venom."

"And then after that...you and him will be bonded and he can even go to LaPush! Me and him can surf!" Seth blurted, I shot him a intense glare as he could wake up Charlie. Everyone went quiet as we heard a interruption in Charlie's snores but then he snored loudly once again, I let out a breath in relief.

"I don't think this ceremony is needed." I stated, turning to my mom. Her face didn't show any emotions but she did shake her head in disagreement, she isn't letting this go.

"It is needed." Mom replied, her eyes held a stern look as she looked at me. "You will see...now get up and help me prep breakfast!"

I bit my lip to stifle a groan as I got off the couch, Seth chuckled.

"It'll be alright sis, I promise" Seth said with a cheeky smile.
