Simon laid by Leah, his fingers loosely playing with a blade of grass as he watched her. He tried to get enough of her but he just couldn't stop looking, her face was so peaceful as she dreamt.

There was a sudden snap of a twig in the forest near them that caught Simon, he jumped in a crouch in front of Leah. He tried to bite back a snarl or a growl, hoping not to wake Leah. His bright golden eyes scanned the forest before meeting eyes of a familiar pair of brown eyes, he let out a sigh and stood up straight.

"I'm sorry...I was trying to make sure she was alright." Seth whispered sheepishly, his eyes glanced at his sleeping sister and felt more relaxed. "She must've been tired."

"I believe so." Simon replied, he began to make his way across the meadow to the forest line where Seth stood.

"I will inform mom that she's safe but there is something that you and her need to do." Seth informed Simon, the vampire quirked an eyebrow at the young boy before him. "The council wants to meet you and make the imprint formal."

"What does that mean?" Simon asked

"They want you to exchange a vow or...promise." Seth struggled out to explain. "It's messy, for sure, but this is the first time that we...ever countered the vampire and shifter imprint bond thing."

"So like some...sort of union?" Simon asked, he tried to bite back a smile at the thought. He always wanted to get 'married' even as a human, it was a big deal.

"No!" Seth exclaimed, his eyes wide and his hands outstretched from his body but quickly calmed down and spoke in a soft whisper. "They want you to promise that you won't drink blood any humans around here especially on our reservation, something that can be tied to the bond...it's difficult to explain. Only the council can explain it"

"Obviously I wouldn't." Simon stated in a certain tone, Simon's eyes met his and he looked away.

"I trust you but the council can never be too careful." Seth replied, he noticed his sister was stirring in her sleep. "I'll speak to Leah once she heads home."

With that last word, Seth turned and left in a quick motion before his sister woke up.

"Hm?" Leah croaked, her voice deepened by sleep. She raised her head but with that quick motion, her eyes widened as she realized she fell asleep next to Simon. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep!"

Leah stood up quickly and dusted herself off, trying to get whatever dirt that moistened itself on her. Simon let out a light chuckle, he shook his head as he walked over to her.

"It's okay, you look adorable when you sleep." Simon's words slipped out quickly before he realized what he just said, Leah's cheeks were set ablaze at that statement and looked at him with wide eyes.

"Um-Who was here?" Leah quickly changed the subject, looking the other way. Simon cleared his throat, he knew he shouldn't have said that...he knew that it would definitely create some awkwardness for her.

"It was Seth, he came by to check up on you and also to tell us that the council needs to meet me...and you as a couple." Simon explained, his eyes was staring at the back of Leah's head as if any moment, she would run.

Leah let out a loud sigh before throwing her hands up in the air, she was nervous at the thought of Simon meeting the council.

"It'll be okay." Simon tried to comfort her, he wrapped his arms around himself as he try to restrict himself from pulling her close to him to comfort her. "I'll make sure Carlisle knows and he most likely will come with me...he is the peace maker after all"

"Yeah...that sounds like a plan." Leah mumbled, her eyes looked down at the ground and it was obvious that she was slowly getting caught up in her thoughts. "I must be heading over to Charlie's...my mom would definitely explain it better to me."

"Okay...please be careful." Simon spoke, that pulled Leah out of her thoughts and quickly met his golden amber orbs. Leah quickly was out of breath as she looked into his eyes, she didn't even notice that her feet were leading her to him. Simon was shocked as well but wouldn't even break from the trance they had together, Leah's hand lifted up to stroke the side of Simon's face so softly.

Leah was definitely mesmerized and too tired to even care, her tan skin was so different compared to his pale skin. So different. Simon's chest let out a rustic noise, that obviously took Leah by surprise.

"Sorry. Just your touch is amazing." Simon mumbled lightly, his eyes were slightly opened behind his heavy black eyelashes. A smile played on Leah's lips as he told her that, her heart was beating faster than normal as she quickly realized that no one has ever told her that...no one ever seemed to give a damn about her especially being surrounded by hormonal, anger driving, were-men.

"You know...no one has ever told me to be careful...it was always the opposite, some even hoped for the worst to happen to me." Leah softly spoke, still stroking Simon's cheek. Simon's eyes widened more as he took in the information that Leah told him, his hand outstretched and wrapped around her protectively.

"I would never...I will always be here to protect you." Simon nearly growled out, Leah's lips trembled slightly as she nuzzled into his shirt, she was on the verge of crying. "I want nothing but the best for you, Leah.I will-"

"Thank you" Leah mumbled against his chest. Simon looked down at her, nuzzling his face into her soft black hair.

"Anything for you, my beloved"
