warning: this chapter just contains negative ways of thinking, breakdowns, and more along those lines, as well as thoughts of suicide
——<3The oh so confident Crowley hated to admit it, whether out loud or in his mind, he found himself impressed! You and Grim (though very tired) still managed to pull through and muster up enough motivation to work together. Which, was an impressive feat since you guys irritated each other just by breathing.
Crowley swirled in front of each other and looked you both in eye, astonishment laced on his ghostly face, "Simply incredible! I've never seen anyone bend a monster to their will the way you've displayed for me!"
You noticed that Grim shot Crowley a confused and shocked look at the implication that you were able to successfully manipulate him.
Swiftly, with a snap of his fingers, Crowley regained his human form.
"I must confess, my educators intuition did sense something about you after the whole fiasco at the ceremony, [name]."
"Woow, you mean it..?" You said, your voice being laced with sarcasm and awkwardness. To be honest, you were so tired and on the verge of ripping your hair out because frankly life has really been putting you through it these last few hours. It genuinely felt like a few days had went by from how slow time seemed to move. Because of this, you kinda didn't know what Crowley was talking about, and nor did you care all that much too. You just wanted this nightmare to end.
"Indeed! I could sense you possessed to ability to tame beasts and make them work at your will. Yes, yes, indeed.." The rest of his sentence was left in random gibberish-mumbles.
"Well, if it's not much. Could you let Grim stay here with me?"
"Huh?!/Myragh??!" Both Crowley and Grim seemed to share the same reaction as they shared a look at each other, to confirm if what they heard was really true.
"Well, Crowley said it himself. I have the ability to train beasts. In a world of magic, and since I cannot use magic, I'm left completely defenseless! Grim could be some sort of.. trump card..?" Hopefully this worked.
Crowley placed his hand on his chin and seemed to stare down at the floor in thought, considering your claim, "Hmm.."
"I mean.. you wouldn't leave a completely magicless and defenseless student to fend for themselves, would you?"
You swore you heard Crowley mumble under his breath, "yes.. what would the public think about me if I did that.."
And then, with a snap of his fingers, Crowley declared with a bright smile, "Indeed! I cannot deny this plea! You do make a point after all!"
Grim perked up in surprise, his eyes sparkling in happiness, "Myragh! Really?!"
"Yes, yes. Grim can stay here. However! There are some conditions."
You and Grim glanced at each other before muttering out, "Alright.."
"Under no circumstances will I allow students who have NOT been chosen by the mirror to freeload here until you return back home." Crowley begin and proceeded to point a finger at you, Grim visibly sulked at this and said something about how he shouldn't have gotten his hopes up.
"But do let me explain, it was indeed the Dark Mirror that brought you here. Therefore you are the schools responsibility to look after. Therefore, you will have the right to remain here on campus free of charge."
You could imagine yourself already, flexing to random students on campus trying to mind their own business saying something along the lines of,
"Hah. Imagine paying big money to get into some prestigious college when you can just stay here for free. Bet you can't relate, huh?"
