"Congratulations on your 8th birthday, Riddle!"

When you "woke up", your entire surrounding was dark.

And you were alone.

You slowly got up, hesitant to put any more strain on your body since you felt extremely tired and you were suffering from all sorts of aches in your body. It didn't help that you also were suffering from an extreme headache.

You felt dizzy as well, and if you did one wrong move, it seemed like you would puke.

But the overall environment you were in did not comfort you at all, if anything, it was a perfect way to trigger your fear of the unknown.

"For this year, your birthday cake shall be a sugar-free one filled with nutritious treats like nuts! It's also made with soy flour, it also contains lecithin which is very good for the brain."

What was that voice? And where was it coming from? From the sounds of it, it belongs to an older woman. But you couldn't see anything or anyone.

"Thank you, mama.. But.. I.. uhm.."

And there was another voice! It belonged to what you could only assume was a little boy. And this time, it sounded way more clear than the woman's. And it gave you an idea of where it was coming from.

But was it safe to go? That was the question. You were currently trying to rationalize your thoughts. To be honest, you thought you were having flashbacks of your life or something. But that voice sounded nothing like you when you were younger, and the woman's voice sounded nothing like your mother as well.

Gathering enough courage, you decided to press on. And slowly started walking in the direction of the voice that came from the little boy.

Eventually, in the distance, you saw a silhouette. You slowly crept on them, to get a good look of the person. The plan was, if they looked like they would kill you, run for it! If not, and it better not be, approach.

Closer and closer you got, the more a feeling overtook you. A feeling of familiarity. Though, at the same time, it was not a good feeling. And quite frankly, you wanted to run away. To get rid of this confusing feeling.

Yet your legs kept moving forward. The first thing you noticed was the color of his hair, a nice shade of red.

"Riddle..?" You softly spoke, yet he made no acknowledgement of you. You approached him more and stood by his side. But he continued to not acknowledge you.

"Just this one, Mama, I want to eat a tart filled with lots and lots of strawberries for my birthday. Is that okay.?"

You tensed at the voice speaking, it was none other than the younger boy's voice. Riddle was completely focused on the scene unlaying before him. Looking over at him, you gasped. Riddle's eyes looked so damaged. His eyebrows were furrowed, he looked devastated to be watching this. Yet he couldn't look away.

Looking at the scene, it seemed to take place in a house, and even though you've never visited the place, it looked eerily cold.

There was not an ounce of color in sight, everything was either white, gray or just cold black. The whole room felt depressing.

The two figures you saw didn't even have any sort of form of recognition to them. They were nothing but silhouettes. You saw the silhouette of an older woman, and one of a young child. Which must've been where the voices came from.

The older woman visibly took a step back and let out a gasp, "How could you suggest such a thing! Desserts are filled with so much sugar, are you TRYING to poison yourself? One slice of those filthy tarts will make you exceed your quota of calorie consumption."
