——<3"Waitwait! You gotta see, it's stupid to follow some rules like that! Like what purpose do they serve?!" Ace raised his hands up in a false sense of surrendering, his eyes darting between Trey, Cater and Riddle. He was giving it all to make Riddle see reason.
Grim also perked up, agreeing with Ace as he exclaimed, "Yeah! What he said! And besides, if you don't want the tart, I'll eat it!"
Riddle's angry face never faltered, except, Ace's question only made him even more upset, "You're asking what purpose it serves? Its purpose is to teach discipline, respect! I don't care if I have to collar someone a thousand times, I'll do it so they learn their lesson! And to remind those of the power of who's really in charge. This discussion is pointless!" The red head then raised his finger at the two upperclassmen, "Trey! Cater! Escort these people out already!"
Trey lowered his hand into one of his pockets, except, he hadn't grabbed onto it as he was hesitating greatly, "Housewarden, I'm really sorry.. To tell you the truth, it was me who suggested making a marron tart to begin with."
Seeing what Trey was doing, Cater also lit up at a chance to get Riddle to see reason, "Yeah! We seriously didn't know there would be a rule about it. We only made this tart with the purest of intentions to make you feel better, we swear!"
Riddle scoffed, placing a hand on his chest as he said, "The problem isn't you making it, the problem is that you brought it HERE of all places! You could've brought it on any other day, or maybe on the same day but when the party is over, but no! You all chose to ruin a perfectly good Unbirthday Party."
Your eyebrows furrowed, and your face only grew more upset at Riddle's choice of words, "Like we said! We didn't know there was a rule, so how did we CHOOSE to ruin an important event like this?! You're completely stupid if you're prioritizing rules instead of listening to our reason! Ace wanted to atone for his rule breaking and you respond by kicking us out?"
Riddles eyes widened at your audacity to call his rules stupid, he would've expected such a thing from Ace the rule breaker, but an OUTSIDER like you?! Who did you think you are?
Ace grinned at you, he was frankly happy that you were so willing to defend him and call out Riddle. To be honest, he was expecting you to just remain silent and let him to handle this. Then, he turned his attention from you onto Riddle, "[name] is right. I'm so sick and tired of hearing you go on and on about your rules. You really are being stupid if you're choosing some words on a book instead of reason!"
"So your name is [name], huh?" The thought ran across Riddle's mind, but he had no time to focus on that, "Be quiet, be quiet all of you! You claim for me to listen to rules over reason, but rules ARE reason. Rules create reason! They're the only thing providing sense around this world! Reason wouldn't exist without the rules, you idiots truly know nothing about which you speak of!"
Cater worriedly looked at you and Ace, if you guys kept going like this, it wouldn't be too long before Riddle would collar your entire group, including you yourself. "Hey guys, enough with the 'S' word! That's completely not allowed and it will only escalate the situation further, so why don't we all just—"
However, Ace didn't hesitate to cut Cater off, "I don't care if I'm escalating it. I'll raise this situation to the top of Heartslabyul's roof if I have to. Only an absolute idiot would blindly follow these rules and think it's gonna do them well in the long run."
Since everyone was sharing their opinions, Deuce only felt it was appropriate to let Riddle know where he stood as well, "I completely agree with Ace and [name]. Well, I'm sure they could've been gentler with wording— But still! I agree breaking rules is a bad thing and it should have some sort of consequence, but to give out such severe consequences over something so little is insane."
