Not only did the attacking trees disappeared, but also the collars that were restricting Deuce, Ace, and Grim. Poofed, gone, away!

Trey broke eye contact with Riddle and instead looked at your group, "I told you, my magic is made to overwrite things, and in this case, it can temporarily overwrite magic, though..." The green haired man appeared visibly discomforted, "It's very straining.."

Cater couldn't help but yell out in pure disbelief, "That has to be some sort of flaw! Or loophole! Trey, you mean to tell me you can overwrite anything you want and you never told me about it-?!"

"Well, not anything I want—"

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!! Why won't it work?! WHY?! OFF WITH YOUR HEAD, I SAY!"

The one to interrupt Trey from explaining further was non other than a fuming Riddle, who looked like he was about to explode from pure anger. Yet the more he aimed any magical incantations at any of you, Trey's magic worked faster. This resulted in nothing but cards spawning out of Riddle's staff.

However, it was a disadvantage for both Trey and Riddle. The more Riddle's magic failed to work, the more pissed Riddle got. And the more Trey's magic worked to prevent Riddles, the more straining it got to keep up with the amount of spells Riddle was trying to summon at once.

It was ESPECIALLY straining considering Trey was not overwriting a regular spell, but a Unique Magic spell. Even more so when it was a powerful one such as Riddles.

Yet despite the toll it was placed onto Trey, it was almost as if it made him want to not quit. Yet how badly he wanted to quickly tap out, to cancel out his Unique Magic because the feelings was overwhelming him all over.

But at the same time, Trey caught himself feeling bad. Not because of the strain, but because even at a moment like this, he still held pity for Riddle. He never wanted to see Riddle like this, never in his life. It was funny he felt guilt, considering Riddle was considering manslaughter. But if Riddle was falling apart like this, does this mean all of his efforts to protect Riddle were for nothing? Trey felt ashamed.

It's interesting how morals work in that way, no?

And who knew it was so difficult standing up to what is right than it is to just surrender and give in to the tyranny.

Despite the conflict brewing in his mind, and despite the urge to give up, Trey decided to persist, "Look at everything around you, Riddle. See how destroyed everything is because of your magic?! And not just the property, but the people too! Look how scared we all are! You're the Dorm Leader, so why are you acting like this! Please, stop this!"

Trey had a point, and Riddle internally acknowledged that. What would happen if word like this got out to everyone at school? What would they think of him? What would happen to his reputation and status of Housewarden?

"He was about to kill someone, did you hear?!"

"He's a horrible human being, he should be in jail."

"He's an utter monster. I bet his parents are ashamed of him."

Ah.. right.. his parents.. Mother... what would his mom think of him? To hear about his outrage?

No, his mom would be proud of him, Riddle assured himself of this. Because he had this outrage because of how badly he wanted to protect the rules. His mother would congratulate him on his fierceness for the rules.

At the end of the day, hers was the only opinion that mattered to him. This brought him joy. But another part of him knew his mom wouldn't be satisfied. For if she heard about how he got his magic sealed away, how for a moment in his life, he wasn't in 1st place, what punishment would await him at home?
