"What do you want, Freak?"
"We should have you burned!"
"I saw what you did, Maude!"
Voices were ringing in my head. Voices that sounded familiar. I started seeing images too, a building with young girls everywhere, some of them reading on the lawn outside. Classrooms and professors, a big hall with several tables. A school.
I walked in a long dark corridor leading to an empty room. Well... almost empty. A blond-haired girl was standing in front of me, her arms crossed. As I got closer to her and inside the room, I heard the doors violently shutting closed behind me.
"You didn't really think I would let you humiliate me without getting revenge? You don't run this school, I do!" The blond-haired girl stated with a threatening voice. "Girls, tie her to that chair!" She ordered, as she pointed her chin to a wooden chair at my left.
Two girls came out of nowhere and threw themselves at me, trying to force me to sit down. A third girl leaned to try and tie my ankles while they were holding me down.
Suddenly, all I heard were screams, and all I saw were bright blinding lights exploding everywhere in the room. The screams stopped and the lights
"What on earth have you done with Lydia?" A horrified voice shouted from the back.
The horrified voiced disappeared and all went pitch black again before I opened my eyes again, to find myself laying on the floor of the Great Hall, Sebastian leaning over me.
"Are you alright?" Sebastian asked.
"Yes, yes..." I answered confused.
"What just happened?" Imelda asked as I got up with the help of Sebastian's hand.
"Nothing, she just fainted." Sebastian answered, while I finally noticed several students had gathered around us.
"I'm fine now!" I said while pushing Sebastian away. "I'll meet you both with Poppy in the undercroft later, there's something I need to do."
I grabbed the box carefully and closed it, in case the crystal would provoke whatever that was again, and I ran out of the Great Hall, heading to my room. Once in the common room, I raced down the stairs and barged violently into my room, the door nearly hitting back on my face. I searched for my book Great Expectations that was still in my shoulder bag. Still standing up next to my bed, I opened the book and swiftly went through all the pages until I found what I was looking for.
There it was! The piece of paper I found on a previous read!
I saw what you did, freak.
Meet me in the library after Mrs. Collins class or I will tell on you.Lydia
Did that note was mine after all? Who was this Lydia? Safe to assume it was another student at a school I would've have attended. At least, that is what we can be guessed from the flashbacks I've experienced.
After putting the book back in place, I headed to the undercroft to meet with my friends, who were already waiting for me there.
"Maude! What was the hurry?" Ominis questioned.
"That crystal in the box I opened, in showed me a flashback. Now I'm not absolutely sure, but I think it was somehow from my own memory." I handed the book to Sebastian, opened with the note between those pages. "Look, that book Tom gave my mom, it was mine after she died, and that note wasn't my mother's, it was mine."
"So... you must have put it there, but you don't remember?" Poppy asked.
"As far as we know, you may have been obliviated. Well, that's what I thought..." Ominis said.
