Anne and I were sitting together in the stands, cheering the Slytherin team for the first game since the winter break. For the first time since this year started, Sebastian and Freddie seemed to be actually playing as a team instead of against each other. Until now, I still had no idea how we managed to take the lead over the other houses with these two actively trying to drag the other down right in the middle of any games.
Surprisingly, the Hufflepuff house really got better. I remembered how this morning, Sebastian woke up overly confident, saying it would be an easy win, but right now I can only imagine his surprise to their performance.
Fortunately for the Slytherin, it all really comes down to who gets the golden snitch, and Sebastian was awfully good at that. Even if he was usually good in making the pleasure lasts, he can be quite quick and still focused when required.
It was nowhere as tight as the last game with the Gryffindor when Sebastian and Garreth were head to head for the snitch. The Hufflepuff boy was easily a few feet behind when Sebastian finally won us the game, catching the golden snitch near the ground behind the Slytherin's goals.
"I'll take that as a win for us!" Ominis exclaimed at the sound of students around us screaming and cheering.
Anne giggled to his obvious comment. When around him, she showed such a soft spot, sometimes it was almost too much. But I guess that is the will we/won't we phase for us. Nothing official between the two friends yet.
"Oh yes, we did..." I breathed out as I watched my man walking victoriously on the field, his eyes seeking me.
I turned around and watched Eileen and professor Ronen cheering and chatting while they were sitting together in the highest bench of the stands, some other staff member next to them. For a moment, I almost forgot my twisted aunt was here, almost trying at a normal life.
She was blending in well, I must admit. Of course, if you look over the murder she committed in order to gain a place here. I was still horrified at the fact that she went to such length when she probably could've avoid such violence, but then I guess even if I discovered a glimpse of humanity in her, she was still her.
"Are you coming to the party this evening?" Anne questioned me.
"Of course she is, where your bother goes, she goes." Ominis teased me.
"My brother at parties?" Anne scoffed. "Well, I guess it will be a first for me too!"
"Sebastian? When high on a victory, your brother can be dangerously wild." I laughed, trying to make the underlying meaning obvious.
Ominis sighed while Anne got up with an amused face, yet hesitant to ask for clarifications.
Just as expected, the Slytherin common room was already in a party mood as the winning team had started the celebrations. I watched from afar as I leaned my back against the wall near the common room entrance, Ominis doing the same next to me.
"I'll go change before dinner." Anne announced, heading toward the girl's dormitories.
I watched her walk away, waiting for her to disappear out of my sight.
"Not that it is any of my business, but why are you two still awkwardly flirting with the other?" I asked the blond boy next to me.
"I don't know..." He sighed. "I would guess it is because I still feel bad for how I handled things. Both with Poppy and the fact that I lied to Anne for months. She won't say, but she has not forgiven me completely yet."
"How do you know? Did you talk to her about it?"
"How did you know Sebastian was sorry about your fight even tho you two have ignored it since the Highlands?" Ominis questioned me back.
