It was the day of the first rounds of auditions.

 I wasn't nervous per say - but I couldn't sleep last night.

I spent the night in my manager's office - pacing. It was four o'clock in the morning now.

I paced the office, I had to be ready and at the studio in two hours.

Which means I had to leave soon, Debbie is driving me.

We went through the checklist of what I needed.

"Alright, Let's start. You have your first arrival outfit. You're in a white spaghetti tank top. Remember this is a look alike - the paper says." Debbie read from the paper on her clipboard.

"Yes, I am in the white tank top, the bell bottom flare jeans, the western boots, THE shades. My hair - is beach waved and half up, half down style. A CLEAR rubber elastic in the hair." I began to list off.

"The belt?" Debbie questioned

. I panicked, no I didn't....

Debbie leaned down and grabbed a shiny belt from a drawer in her desk, "You know I saw this at the store and thought - she might just need that"

I grabbed the belt with a sigh of relief, "You are the best! Alright let's keep going. I have the outfit changed into workout clothes. I also have a black bathing suit, short bottoms not bikini bottoms. I have the binder of scripts they sent to the office. I have white sneakers to change into. I think I'm all set."

I smiled at Debbie, but she spoke, "No you don't." She handed me a necklace, "This is a special gift. I used it in my first audition, it's your turn for luck." She put the necklace around my neck and tucked it into my shirt to hide it. "Now let's get you some water, grab your lunch and your bags. Then we can get going." I nodded, kissed her cheeks, and then headed out to the car.

I warmed up as we drove to the studio - with the time we are at now, we'd be about half an hour early if all goes well.

"AH! Hale, the lipstick is smeared!" Debbie warned.

I grabbed my bag of clothes to change into.

I quickly fixed it in the mirror. "Looks great, kid. Let's go over the plan once you get there."

I nodded, and took a sip of water, "I'm going to step out of the car. Nonchalant. Embody the character as soon as they see me - leave an impression. Then put the sunglasses up. Grab my bags from the car - then walk in. Once there, follow directions and be polite. Using my accent makes me stand out, but then show despite that I can blend in. Be confident. Remember, Tom Cruise told me I'd be perfect for the role, but don't be cocky about it."

Debbie nodded and began to get off the highway toward the exit of the studio.

My knee began to bounce, "Hale, sweetheart you're never this nervous about auditions."

"This is all I ever wanted, Debbie. If I don't get this - I might end it all here." I mumbled.

"No you won't, you will take it with a smile - and prove to them that they made a mistake." Debbie told me straight forward.

" Then I'll need another break, for skydiving." I tell her straightforward no room for argument, "You can at least afford me that"

Debbie nodded, "But don't make me have to do that."

"Alright," I shook my shoulders out as we pulled up to the studio, "Let me at uhm Debbie, let me at uhm"

She pulled up and put the car in park so I could get out. "You've got this kid! I've got a need?" She prompted.
