Y/N had been in hell for...about 8 months now. They had a steady job, and lived at a hotel aimed toward rehabilitating sinners! Plus, it was rent free! So to say the least, Y/N had it going pretty well. Although, in the midst of finally steadying in she remembered that...fuck. The extermination. She overheard the hotel owner Charlie saying something about how it was...TOMMOWROW?! SHIT! That meant that in one day, demons everywhere were going to be getting slaughtered. Shit.

{What am I gonna do...} She thought, pacing her room anxiously. {I can just stay here...I'm sure that Charlie will make sure everyone stays safe.} Plopping down on her bed Y/N sighed and pulled the covers over her head. {It's gonna be fine...what's the worst that could happen?}

The sounds of screaming awoke Y/N, who sat up, rubbing their eyes and groggily pacing over to the door to try and see what was happening...

Shit.

It started. Y/N could see the Exorcists flying down and impaling any demon that got in their line of sight. It made her feel uneasy. She felt like she was forgetting something...

That's it! Her friend! She had a friend, she remembered saying something about being evicted and sleeping in her car...Fuck!

{What am I gonna do? I can't just let her be out there in this chaos...}
Y/N crossed her arms, going through in her head what she could do.
{I could go out and bring her back...but...I can't go out there when it's like this...}
She huffed, and turned to her closet, putting on some dark clothes and heading for the door.
{Fingers crossed I don't die again...}

Shuffling through an alley, Y/N sat at the side of a dumpster, catching her breath before peeking around the corner. {Just one more block...}
Unfortunately, her relief turned to panic when she saw an Exorcist turn the corner and look down the alley. Y/N pushed her back against the brick wall, holding her breath and internally wishing this wouldn't be the end.

This was when it happened. Lute stepped further until she saw Y/N. She pulled her spear up to attack, but then... Her stomach turned. She stepped back a bit, it was almost like every time she tried to bring her spear to Y/N she felt this force pulling her back. She observed Y/N closely. [Is this some kind of magic?] She wondered, baffled by this unusual behavior she couldn't explain. She pulled her spear further back and lunged it toward Y/N, the blade skimming her cheek. She winced in pain and looked up at Lute who's expression shifted from confused and frustrated to panicked and worried. "Go." Y/N froze. What? Was she really being spared? "W...what?" She whispered, her voice shaking with fear. "I said GO before I change my mind."  But then another Exorcist hovered above the alley.

Lutes eyes widened and she turned back to Y/N, pulling the spear out of the wall and stabbing her in the arm. The other Exorcist fluttered away, scanning the streets once more before Lute looked back at Y/N and pulled the spear from her now profusely bleeding arm. "Fuck..." Lute mumbled. For some reason she just couldn't find it in herself to kill this one. She grabbed Y/n by the good arm and pulled her into a door in the alley, revealing an empty warehouse.

Lute shut the door and looked back at Y/N. "Well, what are you doing? Don't just stand there, get down in case someone gets in here!" She growled, beginning to scan the shelves. "W...what are you doing?" Y/N managed to stutter. "Trying to find gauze, now go hide you idiot!" Lute huffed, observing as Y/N proceeded to crouch behind a dusty, and probably very moldy couch.

With a sigh, Lute came over with some bandages and began wrapping up Y/N's wound. She winced at the pain, eliciting a huff from Lute. "Suck it up, your lucky your not dead."

There was a pause.

"Why...didn't...you kill me."

Lute's expression shifted to one of irritation and her tone became defensive.

"None of your concern."

She said quietly. Y/N observed as Lute finished bandaging the wound. Just when the two thought everything was okay, close by the crashing of glass pierces the silence.
