On our way to Jubilife City, Felix and I made sure to train up and catch some more Pokémon so we made sure that we were prepared.
"So what kind of Pokémon are rampaging Jubilife?" I asked. "They're not very strong Pokémon," he replied. "It's just a whole lot of different species. I saw on the news that there were a couple of Ampharos, Metang, and Riolu that looked crazy powerful. Do you think they're brainwashed again?" He asked. "It's very possible," I replied. "So we'll have to be smart and think strategically to stop them."
In the outskirts of Jubilife City, we saw that some of the buildings had been destroyed in the rampage. It didn't look great, but it got even worse once we saw what was actually going on in the city. "Oh no! This is even worse than it looked like on the news!" Felix exclaimed. "There definitely weren't this many Pokémon a while ago!"
The civilians were trying their hardest to round up the Pokémon, but there were just too many to handle. We saw the gym leader from Oreburgh City, Roark, try to heard them out of city without hurting them. Felix and I rushed to help. We had to get them out of the city as fast as we could so no more damage could be done.
After what felt like hours of working, we saw that this was getting us nowhere. We were outnumbered ten to one.
Suddenly, we heard a loud screeching noise. It was so loud that we had to cover our ears. I looked up in the sky and saw one of the three legendary Pokémon of Hoenn, Rayquaza!
As soon as I saw it, I knew this problem with the Pokémon would be a cinch! Champion Mikey had joined the battle. Rayquaza had landed next to the mass of wild Pokémon and knocked them all out with one fell swoop of its tail!
Felix, Roark, and I just stood there open-mouthed as the civilians ran towards Rayquaza and Mikey in celebration. I decided that this was another chance to get Professor Rowan somewhat happier by bringing Mikey to his lab.
"Champion Mikey!" I called out as I pushed through the crowd. I don't know if he could hear me, but he looked in my direction. "The professor wants to see you at his lab!" I guess he could hear me because he gave me a thumbs up and hopped back on Rayquaza. "Go Team Sky!" he yelled as he flew towards Sandgem Town.
Meanwhile, the wild Pokémon that got knocked out conscious started to come to. They seemed to have regained their memory, as they shook their heads out of confusion. "We need to get these Pokémon to a Pokémon Center immediately!" Felix yelled. The townspeople helped the Pokémon and said they would become back to normal in a few days.
With our task complete, Felix and I said our goodbyes to Roark and headed back to Sandgem Town ourselves. "I was not expecting THAT," said Felix. "I wasn't either, but everything worked out okay in the end." I replied. "We need to head to the lab as well to report back to Professor Rowan."
When we got to the lab, we saw Mikey and Professor Rowan having a conversation with the former champion, Cynthia. "We have to do something to stop these rampages. They've been happening even more recently," I heard Professor Rowan say.
"Do you think there is a source to all this?" Cynthia asked. "Hm. This reminds me of one of my past adventures..." Mikey muttered quietly. "I can't remember off the top of my head though."
"Professor!" I called. "Oh you're back! Mikey here was just telling me that he saw you, Felix, and the gym leader Roark trying to save Jubilife. Excellent work." Well, trying to was a bit of an overstatement. We were completely outnumbered, but obviously I'm not going to say that.
"Is there anything else that you need from us right now?" Felix asked. "Not at the moment. I'll call you two on your Pokédex's when I do," he answered.

After that fiasco, I suddenly realized that the whole point of me going to that outbreak (besides helping the people, of course) was to figure out who was controlling those Pokémon so I could stop it from happening. I hadn't gotten any information whatsoever, so it put me in kind of a rough mood for the rest of that day.
When I went back home in Twinleaf Town that evening, my dad could tell that something was wrong during dinner. "Hey son. Are you okay? You seem kind of upset," he asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just didn't get any information that I needed today." After my town was rampaged two years ago, I had told my father about my goal and he approved. He was the first (and currently only) one to know what I actually wanted.
"No luck with the rampage today, huh?" he asked. "How'd you hear about that?!" I exclaimed. "Professor Rowan gave me a call and told me everything after Felix rushed into his lab. I'm very proud of how you wanted to help Jubilife City. And you even got to meet Champion Mikey!" "Well, 'meet' is kind of an overstatement," I replied. "All I did was just yell for him to go meet Rowan at the lab." "But he did look at you and give you a thumbs up didn't he? The Professor told me that Mikey told him," he countered. "I don't really know if that counts as meeting though, because we didn't actually have a conversation," I said as I pushed out of my chair. "I'm off to bed. Good night, dad." "Good night..."
It might have been my imagination, but I thought I heard a slight tone of disappointment in his voice...
