After my gym battle, I headed back to the Pokémon Center to heal my Pokémon. I still had a lot on my mind, though, like what Team Night Sky actually wanted and how we were supposed to stop them.

I knew I had the necessary items to summon Arceus. Knowing how to wasn't a problem; it was know when to summon it that I was worried about.

If Arceus wanted me to summon it, why was I meant to in the first place? This is not at all the life that I wanted, but I knew that I couldn't change anything now and that I had to follow through.

I had too many questions and not a lot of answers.

When I left Veilstone City, I decided that if Professor Rowan wasn't going to talk to me on the phone, then I'd have to talk in person.  So, I headed back to Sandgem Town.  However, when I got to the lab, he was gone.  Instead, there were three people:  Cynthia, Felix, and a girl who I haven't seen before.

"Always late, aren't you?" Felix asked with a smirk on his face.  "Okay, Felix.  Just because you beat me in everything doesn't mean I'm slow.  I didn't even know you were meeting here.  With the former champion, even!" I exclaimed.  "And who's this?" I nodded towards the girl.

"This is Ms. Ber—" Cynthia started.  "Just 'Dawn' is fine, please," Dawn interrupted.  "Dawn?  The Dawn?  The same girl who scored the top scorer in the Worldwide Pokémon Showcase Tournament?!" I asked, shocked.

A/N: This is obviously not canon to the main series.  The WPST is not an actual thing.  Also, this Dawn has a different personality in this story.

"Yep, that's me," Dawn replied shyly.  "I don't like broadcasting it because I just want to do it for fun.  I don't have an interest in being famous."

"Who are you?" she asked.  "Ah... I'm an assistant to Professor Rowan.  For now, you can call me (Y/...), (Make up a name here or use yours.)" I stuttered.

I've never wanted people knowing my real name!  I can't blow my cover yet!  I hope I can trust Felix; he's the only one I've told when we were young and so far, it's been okay.

"Since when are you interested in Pokémon Showcases 'Damian'?" Felix asked me.  "Since when do you ask so many questions?" I countered.  "Speaking of questions, where's the Professor?" I asked Cynthia.  "I don't know either," she answered.  "He was gone when I came.  I did find this note from him, though."

I read the note aloud:

"To whomever this may concern,

My condolences for this abrupt absence.  However, some... business...  had to be taken care of.  If everything goes well, I should be traveling with Mikey to stop Team Night Sky.  We've been able to locate their main hideout.  I won't tell you where, as I don't want you getting in trouble.  If you are willing to help, I must warn you: these grunts are extremely tough, so I strongly suggest you train as much as you can.  I have a bad feeling that this new threat is more dangerous than ever before.  I—"

"I what???  Why does it cut off there?!" I exclaimed.  "I don't know, and I'm not feeling too good about this whole situation," replied Cynthia.  "We need to know what happened to Professor Rowan!  He could be in trouble!" Dawn panicked.  "We don't even have a single lead.  This isn't good," said Felix.  "I forgot!  I have this piece of paper that Maylene gave me.  It's their team's goals," I showed them.

"'The Space and Time Orbs'?" questioned Felix.

"'Control Dialga and Palkia?'" Dawn asked.

"'Force Team Night Sky into reality?'" suggested Cynthia.

"I don't know either, but I do know that this 'Team Night Sky' already has the Space Orb; Maylene told me that they ransacked the Veilstone Department Store and found it there," I explained.

"Oh NO!  Team Night Sky must be trying to control Dialga and Palkia to wreak havoc in Sinnoh!  That's why all these rampages have been happening!" Cynthia shouted.

Team Night Sky must be extremely evil!  They are most likely who destroyed my hometown when I was younger!  This is NOT good.  Why are they targeting Sinnoh?  Do they have something against Champion Michael?

Too many thoughts were going on inside my head.  So many, in fact, that I didn't hear Dawn and Felix calling "Damian!  Earth to Damian.  Damian, you in there dude?"

"Huh?  Sorry, I was just thinking," I apologized.  "Well you should stop thinking about whatever you were thinking and start thinking about how we're gonna stop this evil team," Felix interrogated.  "What are you, nuts?!  We've got to listen to the Professor.  He gave both of us direct orders to take out the grunts on our journey!" I exclaimed.

"What did you say?!" Dawn and Cynthia exclaimed.  Felix gave me a look that clearly said "Why would you say that?"  How could I let myself slip like that?  I messed up real bad this time.

I sighed, defeated.  "Okay, last night, Professor Rowan told Felix and I that these Team Night Sky grunts are getting out of control and he needs us to help stop them.  But so far, there haven't been many spotted since the last two we fought.  I guess we could use your help, too, if you're both up for it."

"Of course we want to help!  I can't stand by and watch Sinnoh get destroyed," Cynthia answered.

"So.  What's the game plan?" smiled Dawn.
