A Good(?) Deal

The three of them all smiled and looked at each other. They then looked back at the teenager, waiting for what she wanted.

"I want Angel free." She said, turning her attention to Valentino.

Their smiles immediately dropped. Vox and Velvette knew Valentino wouldn't give up his favorite star for a child.

"Sorry, girlie. No." Valentino said.

"I'll give you my soul!" She quickly offered.

Vox's heart dropped as Val smiled. Her soul shouldn't go to someone as disgusting as Val. Why would she offer that?

"No!" Vox shouted, panic stricken. He cleared his throat and fixed himself to seem more calm. "We all should get something out of this deal. You probably wouldn't want give your soul to Val, you'd want to give it to me." Vox said. He wanted to keep her forever. Not that she would care about it too much, he thought.

"Way to be subtle."  Val sarcastically thought with an eye roll. "I still wouldn't let Angel Dust go." Val said abruptly, his smile fading.

"Then hurt him less." She demanded. "A-and I'll give you something else in return." She was starting to get nervous now.

"Your soul?" Vox asked hopefully his smile reappearing.

"No. But I'll give you anything else." She pleaded.

This made the group think. How could they use this to their advantage. Velvette lazily raised her hand, having come up with an idea.

"Val doesn't hurt the little boy toy. In return when we tell you to show up at the V tower, you have to." Velvette suggested.

It wasn't a bad idea to the other two. Vox and Velvette thought it was great. They could spend as much time with her as they wanted.

Maya thought about her options. She lived here before, she didn't see Vox and Vel allowing Val to do what he wanted with her, and she wasn't giving up her soul. It was perfect, she thought.

"Deal." She said.

Vox offered his hand and she shook it. Electricity buzzed around their two hands, sealing the deal. Vox's smile widened. He could have her all to himself if he wanted. Velvette smiled as well. Maya could stay here forever.

Maya smiled a little, too. This was the perfect first step in setting Angel free. They let go of each others hands and put them by their sides.

Maya skipped out of the room in joy. She couldn't wait to tell the hazbin hotel group what she did. Valentino turned to the other two as she left.

"Get him to hide his bruises better." Velvette demanded.

This was the perfect first step in owning Maya's soul.

...

When Maya reached the hotel, she saw Angel apologizing to Charlie with Husk beside him in the lobby. "He must be happier now that he's away from Val." she thought.

She could barely contain her smile as she quietly approached the two male demons, Vaggie taking Charlie to bed. Angel turned around and noticed her.

"Maya!" He cried. He scooped her in his arms and began to profusely apologize for hurting her as Husk watched the two with a smile. Before Angel's rant could continue, she interrupted him.

"Angel! You won't have to be hurt anymore!" She exclaimed, jumping out of his arms.

"Oh yeah?" Angel asked, ruffling her hair. "You've already done a lot for me. What more could you do?"

She took a deep breath in with excitement shining in her eyes.

"I made a deal with the V's." Maya blurted out.

Husk and Angel's smiles dropped.

"What?" Husk asked, fear evident in his voice.

It wasn't common for him to show emotion like this. But when it came to Maya, he easily let his guard down. Alastor walked in the lobby at that time.

"Hello, my friends!" Alastor greeted them with his signature smile.

"Not right now, Al." Angel said. He then guided Maya up the stairs and to his room.

Husk stayed downstairs, looking at Alastor. The overlord knew something was wrong. Husk tore his gaze away from the deer and followed the two upstairs. Alastor hummed in curiosity and disappeared into the shadows. He followed the three to Angel's room.

"What the hell did you just say?" Husk asked hurriedly after closing the door.

"What?" Maya asked. "I was trying to help you, Angel. Val won't do anything anymore." Maya's smile dropped, thinking she did something wrong.

Alastor's eyebrows furrowed in the shadows. Husker didn't have to be rude about it and make her drop her beautiful smile.

"Did you give them your soul?" Angel asked her. He checked her entire body, making sure they didn't hurt her in any way.

"It was just a deal. No souls involved." Maya's voice was shaky. She thought she made it worse for Angel, again.

Alastor's eyes widened and he gritted his teeth. Vox made a deal with her before he could. Angel and Husk sighed in relief then looked at a defeated Maya.

"I'm sorry, Angel." Maya said with glossy eyes.

Husk came over and grabbed onto her shoulder, softly.

"I'm sure the deal did help Angel." Husk softly said. "Why don't you tell us what it is, kiddo."

Alastor narrowed his eyes at Husk, jealousy boiling in his heart. Maya told the two (three) what the deal was. They weren't happy about it, but they made sure to make Maya feel good about it. They couldn't crush her hopes.

Alastor transported back to the empty lobby when Husk had left the room. Maya stayed with Angel. They were going to have a sleepover, much to Alastor's dissatisfaction.

As Husk came down the stairs, he immediately noticed Alastor's lingering gaze. The winged demon ignored it and went to the bar to clean some alcohol glasses.

Alastor followed him and sat down on one of the bar stools. They sat together in silence, Husk trying to ignore the bad feeling rising in his chest. He stole a few glances at the overlord but couldn't see past his damned smile.

"The plan starts tomorrow, Husker." Alastor said.

Husk dropped the glass he was cleaning as it hit the floor and shattered. Alastor walked up the stairs and to his room. Husk made no motive to pick up the broken shards of glass.

He leaned his arms against the bar counter in thought. He was scared. He didn't want the plan to start.
