Maya approached the two front doors of the Hazbin Hotel. She stood there for a minute. Her eyes went wide and her heart started racing. Blood was pumping quickly throughout her veins. Her breathing became rugged. She didn't feel safe again.

It was like the air around her was closing in on her. Each building she saw closed all its doors and windows. She couldn't scream for help, something was grabbing her throat. Fear choked her very soul and her eyes rapidly looked around for someone.

There was nothing. The sky was darker than normal and that unbearable pain in her head was back. She felt flush again. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. She looked at the two double doors as her breathing slowed.

What was that? She returned back to normal and knocked on the two doors. She waited for someone to greet her. Charlie opened the doors and hugged Maya once she saw her.

"I didn't know where you were. You could've been killed or kidnapped! Why didn't you tell use where you were?!" Charlie said.

"I got lost." Maya lied.

"Where's your phone?" Charlie asked.

Maya patted her pocket, it wasn't there. "I dropped it on the way here." Maya said, acting like she knew all the answers. The V's would kill her if they found out she lost her phone. "I'm sorry."

Just then Vaggie came running to the door and checked the girl for any injuries.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where did you go?" Vaggie barraged the girl with questions.

"I'm okay, Vaggie." Maya responded with a slight smile. "I just couldn't find my way back to the hotel from the club."

Vaggie and Charlie looked at each other with frowns on their faces. Maya noticed how separated they seemed from each other.

"Okay. Well, now you have to calm down an entire group of worried hotel patrons because they didn't know if you were dead or not." Vaggie half joked.

Maya laughed a little. "Yeah."

"Come on." Charlie said and grabbed her hand, leading her say from Vaggie.

The teenager was met with an entire hotel full of worried and scared demons. They all looked at her in relief. Here goes nothing.

                                 ...

"Husk?" Maya called out from the top of the steps.

He looked at her from the cup he was cleaning at the bar. It was about midnight, the rest of the group was already asleep. Maya noticed that Husk was the only one who didn't return to his room.

"Why are you up this late?" She asked him and covered her yawn with her pajama sleeve.

Husk smiled and went back to cleaning the alcohol cup. "I would've asked you the same thing." He told her.

"Why don't you usually go to sleep anymore?" She asked him.

"I have things to do." He shrugged. He turned his back to her to put the clean glass away.

"Can you go to sleep?" She asked.

Husk paused his actions, the cup halfway on the shelf. He sighed and finished his task. He then turned back around to look the tired girl in her eyes.

'Because I'm too worried about you.' He thought.

"It's complicated." Was all he said.

Maya nodded and looked at her bare paws/feet on the ground.

"You know," she started, not looking up. "Whenever I can't sleep, Angel always stays with me. He makes sure I feel better okay night. He says when he was alive, he called it a 'sleepover'."

Husk listened to her. Of course Angel would do that. He was just so... lovable.

Maya looked up from the ground. "Do you want to do a sleepover with me?" She asked him with hopeful eyes. "Maybe it'll make you feel better."

He stayed silent for a moment. He didn't know what to say. She was such an innocent kid. He smiled and let out a chuckle.

"Okay, Maya." Husk said. "My room or yours?" He asked.

Maya's smile got surprisingly bigger. "I want to see your room!" She said.

Husk put the remaining glasses away and followed her down the hotel hallways. She stopped at his bedroom door and waited for him to unlock it. He did so and she ran right in, turning the light on.

"Your room is actually pretty tidy." Maya said, sitting on his bed in the middle of the bedroom. "Dull, but tidy." She joked.

He stared at her for a minute, leaning on the doorway with a smirk. Is this what it feels like to have a daughter?

He watched her, imagining the home he owned when he was alive. He was practically there right now, human and alive. He could see Maya running through the tall grassy fields out in the back as he sat on one of the porch chairs.

He would hum a small tune as he made sure his daughter wouldn't get hurt playing with the beetles and ladybugs. The sun would shine above them as Angel came from the house to give Husk a small kiss on the cheek. A perfect family, right at his fingertips.

The soft sound of snores filled Husk's ears as he came back to reality. He looked at his hands and saw the sharp claws and fur on them. He ran his tongue over his sharp teeth.

He looked at the teenage girl in his bed, fast asleep. He smiled. Demon or not, she was perfect. He closed the bedroom door and turned the light switch off. He walked over to the bed and sat on the other side. He comfortably tucked the blankets around Maya and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

He then laid on his side and hugged Maya close to him. His wings wrapped around her to make sure she was warm enough. He went into a deep sleep that night, dreaming of his home and his picture perfect family with her.

But that's all it was, a dream.
