Chapter 8 - Future Goals

Location - Aoba Residence, Moca's Room

Your POV

Moca and I have been dating for a few days now. Of course, we didn't waste anytime in sharing this news with the others. They were happy for us, but I guess that they were worried as well.

Their concern is very understandable. Moca and I never had any experience when it comes to being in a relationship, so it makes sense for everyone to think like that. However, Moca and I will slowly get used to it as time goes on.

During the start of March, I came over to Moca's house to hangout with her like I always do. Aside from hanging out, there was also something important she wanted to talk to me about. She said it wasn't anything bad, but that doesn't stop me from feeling curious on what she wants to say.

Once I got to her house, I knocked and Moca's mother was kind enough to let me in. She said that Moca was in her bedroom, and I start to make my way there. I knocked on the door until I hear...

"Moca-chan is waiting for you!"

That made me giggle as I walked inside. There she was, the girl who captured my heart.

"Hi Moca, your (Y/N)-kun is here." I said as I let out a small laugh.

"Fufu, so I see." Moca responded as she walks over to give me a kiss on the cheek.

I giggled before giving Moca a kiss on the cheek in return.

"So, what did you want to talk about earlier?" I asked.

"Moca-chan wants to talk about our relationship, and the future." She said as she starts to grow serious. 

This is probably the first time in a while that I've seen Moca so serious. 

"Could you please take a seat." She requested. 

I nodded as I sat down on her bed, and Moca sat down beside me. There was a moment of silence before I started to say something. 

"So, what's up?"

"Well, Moca-chan thinks that this is the perfect time to talk about the future, and what we want to do with our lives." She said. "Keep in mind that we are going to be third years next week." 

"That is true, but didn't Ran and the others agree to stay in Afterglow forever?" I asked.

"I did, but you never know... that could change in the near future." She replied. Well, that is true since neither of us know how the future is going to play out. 

"That being said, can you tell Moca-chan what you want to do in the future?" She asked. 

I pondered her question for a little bit... To be honest, I'm not sure what I want to do, but I can tell that Moca was serious about my future. 

"Well..." 

"Well?"

"*sigh* I don't know."

"That's what Moca-chan thought." 

"I'm sorry, I know you probably think I have an answer by now, but to be honest, I don't have one..." 

I looked away from Moca, trying to avoid eye contact with her. I thought she was going to be mad at me, but in the end, she wasn't... She placed her hand on top of mine, and that got my attention for sure. 

I looked back at her, and I saw a smile on her face. 

"It's okay, my dear (Y/N)-kun. No matter what you decide to do in life, Moca-chan will always be there for you." She said, comforting me. 

"Thanks Moca."

"Hehe, no problem."

"But what about you, Moca? What do you want to do in the future?" I asked. 

"Good idea..." Moca said and she starts to ponder it a little bit. 

"If I had to decide, Moca-chan would... want to run a bakery."

"Run a bakery? Like Yamabuki Bakery?"

"Yes! Imagine all of the bread Moca-chan will have on the shelves. Talk about heaven, am I right?" 

"Yeah, sure..." 

Sometimes I wonder if Moca loves bread more than she loves me, or everyone else in Afterglow...
