I had a penny...
But I have lost
Have you got that?
'Cause I need most.

Evening becomes stronger and stronger
I can not go home with a bare hand
People would be waiting with an expectation
Some body is coming from the foreign land.

I had a bag...
Which I lost
Have you got that?
'Cause I need most.

I purchased lots of thing to distribute
Smile, Love, Affection
And pretend to be keith and kin
People are waiting ambitiously
Return me those...
Else with a broken heart
They will consider me as a mean.

I want the things
Please return me those
I want to return home
Do not let my way close.

It was noon. Time for the lunch. She, along with aunt, was preparing for it. She was dressed in black shalwar and white kameez with black embroidered dupatta covering her head. She was looking stunning.

"Ma! I'll put it on the dinner table. You make some roti(bread)." She said holding the curry in the serving bowl. It was still sizzling hot. She stepped out of the kitchen.

"Assalam-o-alaikum, everyone." She halted in her way, a beaming voice resonated in the lounge. Her breathing hitched. Slowly, she spun toward the source of that voice. He was there, a leather bag from his right shoulder, over the chest and to his left hip. Suitcase in one hand.

'He's back after all!' She thought to herself.

Seeing 'him', her palms became clammy causing the bowl to fall out of her hands.

The glass bowl shattered into pieces, hot curry burning her feet through her slippers. She was so surprised at the moment that she didn't even feel the burning sensation.

Worriedly, leaving his suitcase, he took steps to approach her but moved back.

"Stop! You're gonna hurt yourself." His voice was laced with concern. "There are glass shards down there. If you step on them you may cut your feet "

"What happenedd?......." It was Sha'ban. But his voice got stuck in his throat noticing him.

"You're back!!" He yelped and enthusiastically ran into him. He caged him in a bro-hug.

He laughed at him and squeezed him back.

"I've to. You should help your sister first. She must've burned her feet. Check her." He said releasing him from his embrace. Aunt was helping her to sit on the sofa avoiding the pieces of glass.

"Hisham! It's you? Really." Uncle seemed taken aback. But seeing Zainab's charred foot he exclaimed and almost ran to her. "Oh! Zainab! Child, what did you do?"

Her vision was blurry as her eyes were brimmed with tears. She didn't even know-was she crying for pain or anything else.

"Let's take her to hospital. We're sorry son! We couldn't welcome you better." Aunt excused to him.

"Oh it's okay, can I accompany you?"

"You must be jet lagged. Zardad and Baba are at office for some reasons. Sufi will be home in some time along with Amy. They are at college. You should rest in your room. I used to clean it weekly. You won't be troubled." Aunt refused politely.

Uncle and Shabby gave him an apologetic smile. Sha'ban picked her up and took her for first aid. Uncle and aunt followed him hurriedly.

He clutched the strap of his shoulder bag and clasped his fingers around his suitcase. He looked around. It was same. Nothing has been changed. Everything was as it was when he left. But something was weird. He could feel that. He saw the staircase ahead of him and proceeded toward them. Climbing the stairs he was headed to his room. It was difficult to guess what was in his mind.

She was extremely exhausted waiting for Safi at her college gate. It was 2 p.m. and he was nowhere. Cars and other vehicles were passing by the road.

She was now being annoyed. She was dressed in her white uniform, wearing a black scarf to cover her head but her face was bare. It was getting hot so her face was all sweat and red. She was fanning herself with her hands.

A bike passed by her. Then that was reversed and stopped in front of her. They were three motorists. Although 3 man at a time were banned from riding a motorcycle, some crooks still used to do adventures.

She threw a look at them and her face contorted with disgust. They were dressed in a weird way. Chains, rings in their fingers, bracelets and studs/earrings, piercings, cigarettes in their hands. They really were something.

Taking a step back to make some appropriate distance, she rolled her eyes at them. They laughed in response. One Of them, who was at back, put the cigarette in between his lips and suck a deep breath.
A few moments later, he tried to blew a puff of smoke on her face but she backed on time. Passersby were observing but they were overlooking the matter.

"Wanna hang out, beauty??" He asked as other two laughed.

"Are you mistaking me for your sister?" She smirked.

There laughter seized in their throat.

"What? I think I heard wrong!" He blurted out.

"Hey pretty girl, watch your li'l mouth." The one at front warned. She chuckled devilishly.

"You know I was waiting for someone like you. Who will present himself for a good beating without any complaint. And you got unlucky. You know there are too many cameras at this time, capturing us. As you're the one who tried to harass me, so I'm the innocent one, defending myself. Poor boys!" She said and grabbed the hair of one at the end.

She pulled him suddenly, without giving him any moment to interpret the situation and kneed him in the sensitive part. He fall on his knees as she left grip on his hair. He bent, head down in her feet.

Other two were startled, trying to start their bike but unfortunately, due to sweaty hands and wrecked nerves, failed. Cameras filming and snapping each and everything. Soon there was a large crowd.

Safi arrived on his bike in a speed. Seeing the unfolded scene, he too was astonished. He understood that it was gonna be his forfeit that became their bad luck.

She eyed him with rage burning in her veins. He gulped hardly. The bikers ran away somehow and the crowd scattered. She approached him.

"You should pray hard for yourself Safi dear." She said with an innocent smile and mounted on the bike on the rear seat, clenching his shoulder with extra firm grip. He choked at her words.

"I'm your younger cousin-brother. you should treat me kindly." He tried to smile.

"I'll treat you kindly, politely, gently, graciously, and every other 'ly' there's in the world once we're home." She said almost strangling him with her arms around her neck. He coughed instantly at her tone and action.

Now he was really afraid for his precious little life.
