They were both there to take her back to her home, the place where she was born and brought up, where she spent her childhood and now was the place her husband owned and she had to spend the rest of her life. She had done her packing and was about to say goodbye to those kind and holy family that gave her shelter and food and everything she needed when she had no one by her side. She was reluctant at first but when she got to know that her abductor was in prison paying for his crimes she was relieved and then agreed to go with them.
Hugging her mother she thanked her.
"Don't be worried about not having mother anymore cause I'm here for you." She said patting her head with love filled in her eyes.
"Don't be sad about not having a brother cause I'm here for you." Kamal mimicked his mother making a pitiful expression on his face.
"You should stop doing this. Mimi don't like immature boys. Do you want to lose her?" She whispered in his ear. He straightened his posture in a snap and his face changed it's expressions in a second from naughty to serious.
Mimi was his fiance and he loved her too much.
She snickered at that.
"Okay dad! I'll say goodbye now!" She bowed a little and her father engulfed her in his warm embrace with a soft smile on his lips.
Safi and Hisham were seeing the unfolded scene in front of them in a daze. They never knew they got that close over the time.
Hisham felt something missing though he was already away from her for many years. It wasn't that bad for him, but Safi! What he was feeling was something he couldn't even describe.
He thought she was not changed a bit. He was wrong. For the first time he was wrong in judging Amy. 'Cause she sure was changed. Or the time had brought some distance among them or some things were now faded due to the dirt covering them.
He couldn't understand what was the thing making them like they had fallen apart or perhaps they were hanging on some cliff about to fall apart. The string that was joining them together was worn out or losing some beads of the rosary made it ugly.
But he was sure that there was something wrong that was making that rosary to lose its charm. It was no more that beautiful and eye-catching.
He huffed at the endless thoughts he was having and looked at Hisham whose eyes were fixed on him the whole time as he was reading him like an open book. Yes he was that unaware of his surroundings coz of his worries.
They followed her to the car, she seated in the passenger seat. Safi was on front. When Hisham drove the car away they were still outside, waving their hands at her, mother's eyes filled with tears streaming down her cheeks. Father and Kamal hugged her from sides to comfort her.
Car was filled with awkward silence. Safi grumbled loudly and peeked at her from front view mirror.
"You made them your fans in the time being?" It was more like a statement.
"Yeah they were best, lovely and pure, unlike..." she sighed with disgust and left her sentence in the midway. Safi chuckled helplessly.
"You still do it." He almost mumbled lowering his head.
"What?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah! Leaving things to yourself... not completing your sentence, stop talking in the midway." He said in a daze looking in his front.
"No one ever asked me to complete it." She shrugged her shoulders and leaned in her seat.
Her words sealed his lips and remaining journey was spent in silence.
