Tick, tock....time won’t stop
It’s passing.
And here I am-Sitting idle
and waiting
for something to happen
But doing nothing.By: miasam0mia
¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤"Hey guys! Here's the announcement! We're celebrating for getting the deal finally we were struggling for. So let's have a celebration party. And The party whill be held at president's house. So, everyone! Be ready to enjoy and celebrate our success. Here's your invitation cards. For the convenience of some female colleagues so they're not disturbed or face any other problem in attending this ceremony, it'll be early. That's all. congratulations again!" handing cards over to the workers he again clapped to cheer them up. She too received one.
Tabiz caught a glimpse of her thoughtful face and then turned her attention to others. They did it purposefully. It was Safi's idea. He wanted to check if she'll remember something or not. Because if his hunch was right she must will remember it, when she was born and had spent her childhood in that house, and turned 18 in the same house. Childhood memories can never be forgettable and she spent 18 years of her life there. Even amnesia cannot take early memories from a man. They're a part of our soul and our heart. We might forget them for a time period but those are the part of our personality so we may remember it anytime. Because they remind us of who we are. Those memories shape our life and personality and are treasure of our lives.
☆☆☆☆☆"Sir! I think I cannot attend this party I have home business at home at that day." She told him nervously tucking a strand of hair, that came out of her braid, behind her ear.
"what kind of business!" He asked politely.
"Oh! There's some family visiting us for my proposal. According to my mother it's best age to get married, it's the reason." She told him without any hesitation, a soft smile spread on her lips.
"You're getting married! really!" He was surprised.
"It's not decided yet, but my mother is surely going to marry me in family they are her relatives and we know them well!" She was honest.
"Uh-ok I'll talk about it with president." He said with a sudden seriousness. She was happy to hear that.
"Thank you sir!" She gleamed happily and left his cabin leaving him in a deep thought.
☆☆☆☆☆"What the hell is this? How could she get married to someone when she already is your wife, big brother!" Safi cried hearing about her marriage.
"Don't worry safi! she connot do it. It's forbidden to do Nikkah, for women, when she is already married. She have lost her memory but not us. We'll stop her." Tabriz tried to calm him down.
Hisham didn't uttered a word, rather he was silent, eyes fixed in space, fighting an inner war. She was her wife but she didn't even know him. What could a husband like him could do? He was nothing to her when she didn't even remember him anymore.
☆☆☆☆☆She was having severe headaches these days. Now too she was laying on her bed covering her face with a pillow, face all red and hot. Mother worriedly entered her room and sat beside her. She ruffled her hair a little.
"You taking your medicines?" She asked her in a low concerned voice.
"Yeah! I never even missed any day!" She managed to say it with a painful voice.
"Let Ma' massage your head you'll feel relaxed." Mother said and she, removed pillow from her face and moved to her, laid- face down-in her lap.
"Is something bothering you?" She asked after a few minutes.
"It's not anything serious." She mumbled lowly.
"Anyway, if you want to share with me, you can, you knous mothers are daughter's best frend". She smiled heartily at her words and turned on her back to look at her face.
"I know! Mother." She wrapped her arms around her waist inhaling her soft motherly scent that made her forget her headache.
"It's something related to my past." She said after a few minutes pause.
"What's it?" Mother asked carefully.
"I'm having dream of I and that president since we met! I feel a pull between us though I never approached him deliberately. He's cold to everyone but what's weird is that I feel hurt when he treats me like others,my heart sink and I want to cry like he's wronged me. Like I expect a better treatment from him. But I don't know why? It's like I know him for my life and he's never treated me that badly. I keep seeing him caring for me and pampering me. I don't... I don't know what's wrong!" She was searching for words to describe her situation. She got up from her lap, sitting cross legged and looking directly into her eyes she said,
"You know many times I called mistakenly Kamal as 'Safi'. And lemme tell you, there's president's cousin named Sufiyan and he's their partner too. I overheard many times Tabriz sir and president calling him Safi whenever they are together. And Tabriz sir treat me kindly, Safi ignores me and that president treats me like others, cold and distant."
Mother was listening to her giving complete attention to her words. Then she asked,
"What's your conclusion then?" Her question made her hushed."About...what!" She asked nervously hugging her knees.
"About those people you're describing!" She explained.
"Father said it was my family..." she asked after a few minutes silence. Her eyes were randomly moving here and there, not seeing in her direction.
"Who did that to me, I ended up in this situation because of them." She stopped at that sentence.
"And!!" Mother encouraged her to say more.
"I'm confused about how they treat me. Safi surely ignore me but in his ignorance there's sadness and fear of losing someone, anger- that one has toward his family. President is cold to me but he tries to avoid me to stop him from hurting himself or....hurting me! Tabriz sir is their friend but he too doesn't treat me badly as he thinks of me as someone related to his friends." She told her what she felt about them.
"That means they were not the ones who did that to me." She said finally concluding everything she noticed there.
"But you should know that they are not the only family you might have. There must be other members too." Mother had a point. She realized what she wanted to say.
"You're right! But how can I know them?" She looked at her giving a questioning look. Mother smiled at her innocence.
"You mentioned a celebration party they were having at their villa. You should attend it. This way you may know more about them." Mother advised her honestly.
"But what about your sister and her family who's coming for me?" She was worried about their reaction when they wouldn't find her at home when they'd visit them.
"It's okay! You're more important matter for me than her." She said cupping her face in her hands, soft eyes roaming on her face.
"Thank you mother." She hugged her excitedly.
