[N95 ] - [Kendrick Lamar]Vienna made her way home, trying to shake off the events that had just transpired. It seemed as though she had moved past the ordeal quickly, but in reality, she had more pressing concerns occupying her mind.
She reached her worn-out home and unlocked the door with a key, the hinges squeaking loudly in the eerie, impoverished neighborhood.
The house itself was a testament to the hardships her family faced. The paint on the walls was peeling, revealing patches of bare wood underneath. The windows were cracked and patched up with tape, allowing drafts to seep through.
The roof sagged under the weight of years of neglect, and the front steps were crumbling, a hazard to anyone who dared to tread on them. Inside, the furnishings were sparse and shabby, with mismatched chairs and a threadbare couch that had seen better days.
No one in her family had ever earned a degree; they were all born and raised in the slums. But Vienna was different. She wanted a brighter future for herself.
Maybe that's why she studied so hard and endured the chaos around her. She believed that one day, she would escape this life, proving that even in the darkest places, the sun could shine.
Vienna found her sister sleeping soundly on the couch, her chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath. Despite everything, she felt a smile forming on her lips. Her sister wasn't perfect, but she loved her deeply. She had taken care of her when their parents couldn't.
She stifled a laugh as she gently took a strand of her sister's hair and tickled her ear. Her sister stirred, then woke up with a start, her eyes wide with surprise and confusion. Vienna burst out laughing at the sight of her sister's startled face.
Her sister, Akane, glared at her with mock irritation, still groggy from sleep.
"Yah, I will literally break your hand," she threatened, though a smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
"Yeah, sureeeee."
They stared at each other for a moment. Then, with a burst of energy, Akane lunged at her. Vienna tried to dodge, but Akane was quicker, catching her and launching a tickle attack. Vienna shrieked with laughter, her body convulsing as she tried to wriggle free.
Finally, she managed to push her sister off, collapsing onto the couch, breathing heavily. Both of their hairs were now a tangled mess, and they looked at each other, grinning.
