The two teens woke up unusually early the next day, excitement palpable in the air as they hurried around the house. They dashed back and forth, pulling on clothes, combing their hair, brushing their teeth, and splashing water on their faces.

It had been too long since they'd had the chance to go out and play by themselves.

Vienna stood in front of the mirror, carefully combing her hair with precision. She tied it into a neat bun, smoothing out every strand until it was perfect. Once satisfied that no stray hairs stuck out, she placed the comb on the table, took a deep breath, and walked out of the room, ready for the day ahead.

As the early morning sun cast a soft glow, the temperature was just right—not too hot nor too cold, creating a pleasant and calm atmosphere. Vienna and Ni-ki sat at the small table, silently eating their pastries.

Neither felt the need to speak, the quiet between them as familiar as it was comfortable.

However, as time passed, the narrow room began to feel stuffy, like the slow buildup of pressure inside a cooker. The silence thickened, but neither acknowledged it. With a quiet nod, they both stood up and, without a word, set off on their journey.

When Ni-ki shut the shutter doors behind them, Vienna stood beside him, unable to suppress her bubbling excitement, her feet lifting slightly in anticipation.

They made their way out of the abandoned steel mill, their steps light as they crossed through the wild, untamed grass that stretched before them.

At last, they reached the train tracks. Ni-ki stopped, his gaze shifting to the morning sun hanging low on the horizon.

Without a word, he lowered himself to the ground, laying down with his legs propped up on the tracks. After a few minutes of silence, he turned toward Vienna and gave a slight, wordless pat on the ground beside him, inviting her to join.

Vienna hesitated only for a second before lying down beside him, feeling the cool metal of the tracks beneath her. The quiet was thick, but the closeness between them made it peaceful.

Vienna didn't ask any questions, just laid down beside Ni-ki, resting her head on his arm as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

The sky above was a calm, soothing shade of azure, occasionally interrupted by the flight of a lone bird cutting across the expanse. Vienna stretched her legs out, resting them on the cool metal of the train tracks.
