Jade's POV

"Mystro, Tricia said to remind you about the fitting on Thursday."

"Oh yeah, I got the memo from my assistant and was wondering what suit fitting. Thanks for reminding me, baby."

"Tricia looks pretty in her dress today, she was so perfect we cried."

"Yeah? Girls always cry when they see the bride," he said. The fact that he was completely oblivious to where this conversation was going, made me pissed.

"They do? You have only been married once."

"But I have been to a lot of weddings. Should I peel the potatoes or the carrots?"

"Peel the potatoes," I replied to him. He was about to make me lose my appetite before we even finished cooking dinner.

"Yuh know Chelsea passed a remark about most of us won't be wearing a wedding dress and I just feel she was referring to you because of you."

"Why would you think that was because of me?"

"Because you have been making it clear to them that you didn't want to get married again." He dropped the knife and wiped his hands. A clear indication that this wasn't the conversation he wanted to have.

"Jade, this conversation will go into another direction so I would rather you come to me straight."

Of course I am going to be straight, he didn't need to tell me twice. "Do you want to get married again?"

"Not for now," he said and it hit me like cold water to my face. I placed the knife on the counter because I swear I wanted to stick it between his forehead.

"So we are just playing house Mystro?"

"That's what you call us building our family? Well Jade, I don't want to get married right now. My divorce is just over and I want to be sure about making another commitment before I do this all over again."

"Technically we have been together for over ten years. What more do you need to be sure about?"

He shook head, "Can't believe you are really doing this."

"It's always me."

"What do you mean?"

"First you called off our wedding because I didn't fit your status on paper. You left and got married to Amelia, now we are back together and you aren't sure if you can commit to me. Again"

"Here we go, you are unbelievable."

"How Mystro?"

"You guh red eye over the girl's wedding and come to me with this? Jade, get this in your head, I am not ready and I won't force myself if I'm not."

"You were sure about Amelia."

"I didn't have a choice. Amelia came with stipulations, you don't. You know I thought that we knew exactly what we were doing."

"Is it so bad to want marriage for myself and security?"

"What more security do you need? You have two children for me, a son that is destined to be an heir, this big house with your name on it, shares in my companies. What more do you want?"

"I want to have the same last name as my children so when I pick them up from school they don't think I am the nanny."

"Nanny driving a fucking Porshe?"

"Yes, your kids are not regular children."

"Jade, I don't know what to tell you but I am not ready to get married again. I am sorry."
