Stacy's POV
Everytime I stepped off the elevator and saw Senior's picture I was reminded of everything that happened.
"Hi Mrs. Walker, look lovely," Kelly greeted me. I don't why everytime I see her I just want to wipe that smile off her face.
"Hi Kelly, is my husband here?"
"Haven't seen him in a while. Is he alive?"
"Not sure but anyways, I am here to see something."
She came from behind her desk. "Tell me what it is, let me see if I could help you."
"Sure, I want to see my new office." She looked confused but I understood that she was trained to behave this way.
"I don't—"
"You do Kelly, please lead me to the office, thank you." She smiled then walked around me.
"Sure, this way." I followed her, a little distance from the front desk. She stopped at a big brown door, punched in a code on the keypad and then the door slid open.
"This is it." We entered the room, it was completely furnished, like something out of Elle Decor magazine.
"Ummm.. this is my office?"
"Yes, you like it?"
I loved it but I was afraid to enjoy it. Something about accepting anything from him just doesn't feel good right now.
"It's nice." Shit it was more than nice. This was highly exquisite decor, it looked like it belonged to the first lady.
"It was supposed to be a surprise, but I can tell that David Bryant ruined it."
"His mouth slipped, however I love his style so I will give him a pass."
"You love his style?"
I waved my hand around the room. "Yes, look how he did this in little time and got everything so perfect, like he was in my mind. I think we were spending too much time together"
"Hmm.. maybe. He is good. Some people are just truly gifted."
"David surely is. I can't wait for everyone to see the work he did with my buildings. I will have to call him when I leave here"
"Call your husband as well, it was his idea to build this office."
"Actually Kelly, I told him I wanted an office, so it was my idea."
"Well you—"
The door opened and Garrick walked in frowning.
"Kelly, you are needed at the front." Kelly smiled at me and they exchanged a look before she left.
"This was supposed to be a surprise," he said.
"Like everything else?"
He ignored me and moved to open the blinds. I smiled and shook my head when I saw the view.
"I'm looking right into your office."
"Yes, I thought this space would be perfect suh I hope yuh love it."
He was fixated on the view, so I went to stand beside him. "I want to love this and everything you do for me but I can't help to think you are doing it out of guilt."
"Stacy, that's not fair."
"Do you know anything about being fair? Look at all the hearts you broke because I made one mistake. What if I were to be like you?"
"I wasn't in a good place when I did those things Stacy, I really wish I could go back and change everything I did."
"You always do this Garrick. Isn't it mentally draining for you? All these hurt, these kids, it is unfair to everyone."
