Stacy's POV
This wasn't looking good and I am very sure that I am going to pay for it since I get blamed for everything that happens around here.
"A who do it Joan?" Tricia asked.
"Had to me Queen and Paris, I wouldn't be surprised if EJ wasn't involved," I said.
"All three of them, Stacy. I'm tired of telling dem stop coming around here come pick off the man flowers dem but dem nah hear and look deh now," She said with genuine fear in her voice.
"Look I will go get some flowers and plant dem back right now, just don't say anything to him because he is going to be so harsh on them."
"Stacy, better you tell him and he deals with them because if you don't they will be coming back to do the same thing. Dem stubborn, especially the Queen she, is like she gets it double dose and she rules EJ and when the rest dem come here, Paris nuh listen to nobody but Stephanie two dem."
Poor Joan.
"Tell him Stacy, cause you know how him stay already," Jade said.
He was going through enough with me to burden him with simple matters like this. Things I can handle without stressing him.
"Look let me go get some flowers and come back and I will talk to the kids when they get home"
"No you won't," I heard his rough voice say. We all turn simultaneously to look at him leaning against the wall.
Honestly, he was a little scary sometimes.
"Yeah, me gone ," Jade said.
"Yeah wait pon me," Tricia followed.
"I have a phone call fi make, suh me will see you around Stacy," Joan said. Now everyone is gone, leaving me with father darkness.
Don't laugh Stacy.
"It's something simple, please don't explode over this," I warned him.
'It's the whole fact that you didn't want to tell me and was going to try to fix it behind my back. I thought you wanted us to share things," he said.
"Garrick I do but this is really trivial plus I didn't want you to yell and the kids and get all worked up."
I was feeling sorry for them already.
"I don't want you to protect me or anyone, protect yourself and your peace of mind. Yuh hear mi?" he shouted.
"I heard you," I replied quickly.
"Good, now try remember me a fuck up yuh pickney dem, just wait until dem reach here."
Yeah he was pissed. I just knew it.
"Well just put them to work and make them plant them back, call yuh whole tribe make dem assist them this weekend since they are also enablers."
"That's a good idea, they haven't been together in a while."
"Yeah, your son still deh here?" I asked and he paused.
"Yes, he is," I replied.
"A she don't it?" I asked.
"Jesus—"
"No man yuh good," I said as I walked away from him.
I made my way up to the room and he followed. When I opened the door, a beautiful bouquet with assorted flowers and two gift bags were placed in the centre of our bed.
"I got these for you, I hope you like them," he said.
For some reason I wasn't even happy that he got me these, I just wanted one thing from him and my mind wouldn't be at ease until he told me. Don't want his tainted gifts.
