Stacy's POV

Walker's Mansion

I was surprised when I got to the house and it was nicely decorated to welcome us home. It did feel like home although I expected everyone to be here.

"This is really nice and thoughtful," I said.

"Your sisters did it," he said as I looked around and checked the bag with gifts in them. The gifts part surely looked like his doing.

"I thought that they would be here?" I asked.

Maybe if they were I would feel less awkward around him. He was more like a weird stranger to me now.

"No, they will come tomorrow, they wanted to give us some privacy."

"For what?" I asked.

He looked annoyed. I didn't care because I did not want any privacy with him.

"Maybe they thought you weren't ready to have people around and you just got home, you

need rest and Maria will be back in a couple of days." he said.

Maria had an emergency but she didn't want to burden me with the details.I wish she did, I felt selfish to think that her life was in turmoil as well.

"All I've been doing is resting for weeks now."

He looked at the baby who was fast asleep in her car seat. "You have her to take care of her now, so you need to rest, let go upstairs."

"You need to hire some more nannies" I said then walked ahead of him to the stairs.

"For what reason? We already have three plus aunty."

I ignore him completely.

"I can't wait for the kids to get home from school, I miss them so much!" I exclaimed.

I walked into the bedroom to see that some changes were made. The bed and dresser were

a different set and now a big white couch occupied a section of the room and another section had a crib.

"Oh, I should have told you that I made some changes to the room," He said. He wasn't going to tell me anything because my opinion never mattered when it came to this house.

"Well apart from the crib everything else is cool."

I went to examine the contents on the dresser.

"The baby needs changing, I'm going to get some things from her nursery."

He took her from the car seat and placed her along with her towel in the centre of the bed.

"You are leaving her?" I asked.

"Yes, take her diaper off and put on other socks, one foot came off it seems" He said.

He then left us in the room. I stood there looking at her on the bed squirming, she was about to be fully awake now.

"Hurry up and come back please." I started to panic. I ran to the bathroom to wash my face and drink the water running from the pipe.

"Why did I come here? I can't do this."

My thoughts were jumbled, there is no way I was ready for this. Maybe I should have gone to my mom's house or my dad's.

When I walked back into the room he was there taking out her stuff from her bag. I turned my back to them and placed my hand over my face.

"Can you do it just one time and the next time I will change her?"

"No, come change the baby" he said firmly.
