Honestly,
Throughout my life,
Deep inside,
I never felt alive,

About a month after they first met, Felix had just finished his last lesson on a Friday and was searching the corridors for his only friend. He never had to search far though, Chris always met him by the music block everyday since they figured out it was a place they could both get to with ease.

"Hi!" Chris smiled, hopping into place at Felix's right.

"Hey." Felix said back, as they started to walk towards the exit.

"How was chemistry?" Chris asked, as they made a turn towards the top of the hill.

"I didn't really understand any of it." Felix said, honestly.

"You said that last time, Lix." Chris chuckled, the nickname accidentally slipping off his tongue.

"What did you just call me?" Felix spoke.

"Oh, sorry I won't-"

"I liked it."

"Okay, Lix." Chris voiced, before a lightbulb basically went off in his head, "Hey, Felix?"

"Yeah?" Felix turned his head to look at him.

"Do you think your parents will let you go out at the weekends? I wanna spend time with you in the city and even at my apartment." Chris suggested, smiling at how Felix's eyes lit up a little bit at his words.

"I'll ask! They don't really like having me in the house anyway, but i'd have to ask anyway. Sometimes they send me out on walks or errands just to get me out." Felix had a smile Chris had never seen before on his face. It was definitely Chris wanted to see again, it brought him a type of joy he didn't know if he'd ever felt before.

"That smile."

"Do you not like it?" Felix's smile quickly disappeared and went back to his emotionless expression.

"No, no," Chris began, causing Felix's heart to drop until Chris said, "Lix... I love it. It's so pretty."

They quickly arrived at the spot they said hello and goodbye at, twice everyday. At the bottom of a road with various houses and buildings up it.

"Ask your parents. If they say yes, I'll be waiting right here! Ten o'clock on the dot." Chris grinned, pulling Felix into a hug.

"Yes, I'll be here. I'm sure of it, I doubt they'll say no." Felix replied, giving Chris his usual small smile before turning around and walking home.

He unlocked the door of his house and took his shoes of, hung his coat up and took his bag upstairs.

After a few hours, his mum called him downstairs for dinner. Which he dreaded because his mum had zero ability when it came to cooking, he was only slightly looking forward to it so he could ask about spending time with Chris that weekend.

"Mother, Father, I have something to ask." He spoke up, midway into their meal.

"What is it Felix?" His dad said, before biting into the piece of food on his fork. They were sat at their large table, Felix's mother one end, his father the other end and Felix in the middle. It was a long table and everyone was seperated, it shone through what kind of family they were.

"May I spend time with a friend of mine tomorrow?" Felix asked, with no hesitation.

"Will you be responsible? And remain following our rules?" Felix's mum voiced, with a strict tone.

"Yes, of course I will Mother." Although, partly that was a lie.

"Then you may." She declared, standing up collecting the (surprisingly) empty dishes from the table.
