An entire parallel universe where a nation called the Saderran Empire from the lands beyond the Gate fought a nation that is very advanced than them (This is my first fanfic. Please go easy on the comments)
Four hours have passed since the attack on Italica has begun. Piña and her knights, along with the Italican defenders, forced the enemy back, despite the fact the enemy is far more advanced than them
Piña: Their center is weak! Break it now!
The defenders then pour hot oil down the walls, burning and killing the enemy below
Nate: Tch, retreat!
The Eldians obey the order and flee to their camps
Piña: Norma! Hamilton! Are you alright! Hamilton: I'm all in one piece! Norma: Same here...!
Grey: How heartless of you, Princess Piña. Aren't you gonna ask about me? Piña: Grey, I know you can handle yourself in a battle
Grey chuckles as Piña's reply makes him see how she has grown. This is Piña's first ever battle, yet she was able to fend off the attack of a technologically superior foe
Piña: Everyone, rest up! The enemy won't give up!
She turns to Grey and Hamilton, knowing that they'll manage
Piña: I'm heading back to the Countess' mansion. Make sure everyone gets ready for the next attack Hamilton: Yes, Princess...
Piña then returns to the mansion, the very center of the city, and the countess in question is a little girl named Myui. Ever since her father's death at the hands of the enemy, her older sisters, who married into different houses, began bickering with each other until it was decided that the youngest, Myui, would be the countess. But she is only 11, meaning she's too young to lead an army. So Piña took it upon herself to lead her forces for her
Myui: Thank you, Princess Piña... Piña: Don't be, I'm just helping out in the defense...
Piña proceeds to sit down and takes her lunch, only to find it to be very bland
Piña: Head maid, is this done on purpose? Head Maid: Yes, after all, fighting while you're stressed out will give you an unhappy appetite. Piña: Did you learn this yourself? Head Maid: No, I learned it from the nearby Fallation tribe, which is within Saderran territory. Piña: Oh...
As Piña finishes, she then heads out once more as Bozes comes to her
Bozes: Princess Piña! Piña: What is it? Bozes: ... It's the north gate.. Piña: The north?
They arrive at the north gate, only to find dead bodies. Yet there was no sign of enemy movement here since there is a cliff on this side of Italica
Piña: How is this possible? Bozes: What do we do? Piña: All archers, get to the roof of every house, and scan the streets. Something tells me the other-worlders have decided to reveal one of their tactics...
Every archer then set up defensive positions on every roof, with Piña also taking the matter into her own hands
As they search the city, two bowmen converse about the situation
Bowman: How did the enemy slip by? There appears to be no sign of an attack here... Bowman 2: Something doesn't feel right, that's all I know...
Meanwhile, Piña is on one of the rooftops, scanning the area with the archers
Piña: An enemy that slipped by our defenses... how is that possible...?
